Corpus cavernosum rupture

Corpus cavernosum rupture

The penis is the lifeline for men and the most important reproductive system. It not only plays a very important role for men, but also maintains the normal relationship between husband and wife. When the penis is injured, the corpus cavernosum will rupture. At this time, it is necessary to actively treat it, otherwise the harm will be very great. The earlier the treatment and the earlier the discovery, the faster the recovery will be.

Dysfunction

Disease Description

A normal male penis consists of two parts, the corpus cavernosum, the urethra and the corpus cavernosum. When sexual desire is high, the corpus cavernosum is filled with blood and the penis becomes erect. If a person has penile curvature, the penis often cannot erect normally when sexual desire comes, thus affecting sexual function. At the same time, the urethra opening of such patients moves backwards, and the clothes and pants are often wet when urinating, which brings great inconvenience to life and must be treated.

Disease Diagnosis

However, the key for people with penile curvature is to find out the cause so that targeted treatment can be given. Clinically, the most common diseases that cause penile curvature in men are hypospadias and penile induration (or chronic cavernitis), which should be diagnosed and treated.

Hypospadias is a congenital malformation that sometimes runs for several generations in a family.

In mild hypospadias, the urethra opens at the coronal sulcus of the penis, and the penis itself is not curved or only slightly curved. It is often ignored by parents in childhood, and does not affect sexual function when growing up, so no treatment is needed. In severe hypospadias, the urethra opens at the junction of the penis and scrotum, and even in the perineum. The missing urethra is replaced by a fiber band, and the penis is short and flat, with obvious or severe downward curvature, and sexual intercourse is impossible in adulthood.

At the same time, since the urethra opening is located backward, ejaculation occurs outside the vagina, so the child is infertile and must undergo surgery to correct it. The surgery is usually performed in two stages. The first stage is best performed at around two years old, mainly to cut the cord and straighten the penis; the second stage is performed six months to one year after the first stage, after the local scar tissue softens, mainly to perform urethroplasty.

After growing up, the curvature of the penis is difficult to correct. Of course, some people in the medical field advocate that the two operations be completed in one operation, that is, while removing the penile chordae to straighten the curved penis, a tube is used to make a tube from the bladder mucosa to replace the defective urethra.

Most patients with penile induration are middle-aged people. The main symptom is the proliferation of penile connective tissue, with one or more hard plaques and cords on the back of the penis. When the penis is erect, it bends upward or to the left and right, and is slightly painful. If the bend is obvious, it will affect sexual life.

The cause of this disease is not clear yet, and injury and inflammation may be the triggering factors. Surgical removal of the nodules is prone to recurrence, so it is not recommended. The general treatment is to inject cortisone locally at the nodules or cords, and take vitamin E orally. Penile histamine or iodine ion penetration can also be performed with the cooperation of the physiotherapy department, but in general, the treatment effect is not ideal.
