What is considered high blood sugar? What is the normal range of blood sugar?

The level of blood sugar is directly related to the health of the human body. High or low blood sugar can easily lead to a series of diseases, such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, etc. If the blood sugar level cannot be well controlled, it will undoubtedly cause great harm to the human body. So what is the normal range of blood sugar in the human body, and what is high blood sugar?

1: What is the normal value of blood sugar?

1: Fasting blood sugar ① Generally, the fasting whole blood sugar is 3.9-6.1 mmol/L (70-110 mg/dL), and the plasma sugar is 3.9-6.9 mmol/L (70-125 mg/dL). ② If the fasting whole blood sugar is ≥6.7 mmol/L (120 mg/dL) and the plasma sugar is ≥7.8 mmol/L (140 mg/dL), repeated twice can diagnose diabetes. ③ When the fasting whole blood sugar is above 5.6 mmol/L (100 mg/dL) and the plasma sugar is above 6.4 mmol/L (115 mg/dL), a glucose tolerance test should be performed.

2: When the fasting whole blood glucose exceeds 11.1 mmol/L (200 mg/dL), it indicates that insulin secretion is minimal or absent. Therefore, when the fasting blood glucose is significantly elevated, diabetes can be diagnosed without other tests.

3: Normal blood sugar levels after a meal ① 1 hour after a meal: blood sugar 6.7-9.4 mmol/L. The maximum value is no more than 11.1mmol/L (200mg/dl). ② 2 hours after a meal: blood sugar ≤7.8 mmol/L. ③ 3 hours after a meal: After the third hour, it returns to normal, and each urine sugar test is negative.

2. How to control blood sugar

1: Eat natural food. Try to eat food in its natural state and eat less processed food that changes the taste. The staple food should be cooked, but not too fine or too soft, and should be chewy enough.

2: Record your exercise volume If you can record your daily exercise volume truthfully, you will have an honest evaluation of yourself and it will be easier to develop a down-to-earth exercise plan.

3: Use small plates. Using small tableware can reduce food intake, reduce food cravings and calorie intake, and maintain a reasonable weight.

4: Exercise half an hour after a meal. Do not sit down half an hour after a meal. It is better to do low-intensity exercise, such as going out for a walk, or doing housework such as washing dishes, cleaning, and tidying up the house. This is beneficial for controlling blood sugar after a meal and will not affect digestion.

5: Testing blood sugar after meals Monitoring blood sugar within 2 to 3 hours after a meal can help diabetics control blood sugar levels more stably throughout the day and prevent the occurrence of hyperglycemia and hypoglycemia; on this basis, a more reasonable diet and exercise plan can be formulated.

6: Eat new fruits and vegetables frequently This eating strategy allows you to get the anti-sugar effects of a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables. However, it is important to note that after tasting a new fruit or vegetable (especially fruit), you should test your blood sugar level. Some fruits have a very obvious blood sugar-raising effect, so you should strictly limit the amount of food you eat next time.

3: What is the normal blood sugar level in the human body?

Blood sugar has a normal value. Exceeding the normal value can easily lead to obesity and even various cardiovascular diseases.
