What is the cause of the pimple-like thing growing in the groin?

As we all know, the groin is located at the junction of the abdomen and legs of the human body. Some people find that they have acne-like bumps in their groin and don’t know what’s going on. Today, let’s talk about what’s going on.

What are the red bumps in the groin?

1. Inguinal eczema. Inguinal eczema is a common type of eczema. Its symptoms and treatment methods are not much different from other eczemas. Its common characteristics are as follows:

1. Itching. Its characteristic is persistent itching, which cannot be solved by distracting attention. When you calm down, the itching will worsen, forming a state of paroxysmal and persistent itching.

2. Polymorphism. The rash of eczema is polymorphic and can be divided into primary rash and secondary rash. The primary rash includes papules and blisters, while the secondary rash includes erosion and exudation. Patients usually have primary rash and secondary rash at the same time.

3. Persistence. Eczema tends to recur, spreading from one part to another, and the symptoms are not easy to eliminate. If eczema is not treated properly in the acute stage, it will turn into chronic eczema, and if it is not handled properly at this time, it will lead to acute attacks again.

4. Exudative: As the name suggests, eczema will produce exudate. Otherwise, it is difficult to diagnose it as eczema without exudate. In addition, when eczema is in the chronic stage, the rash site may appear drier, but during an acute attack, there will still be exudate.

2. Tinea cruris. Tinea cruris refers to a skin disease caused by fungal infection on the inner thigh, perineum, and buttocks. The fungus that causes tinea cruris can be transmitted through underwear, bath towels, etc., or through sexual intercourse, but clinically more than 80% of tinea cruris is transmitted through non-sexual intercourse. In China, the pathogens that cause tinea cruris are mainly Trichophyton rubrum and Trichophyton gypseum of the genus Trichophyton, Trichophyton floccosum of the genus Epidermophyton, and a small number of Candida albicans.

The main symptom of tinea cruris is obvious local itching, which is easy to recur. In the hot and humid summer, the human body sweats a lot, especially in the thighs. If you don't take a shower in time, or wear tight underwear, the sweat will not evaporate in time, which will easily cause tinea cruris. In addition, patients with diseases such as diabetes and excessive vaginal discharge, as well as patients who take a large amount of broad-spectrum antibiotics or corticosteroids orally or topically for a long time, are also prone to tinea cruris. In terms of incidence, tinea cruris mainly occurs in young people, and more men than women.

Tinea femoris often occurs in the external genitalia, groin, perineum and around the anus. The damage is manifested by the appearance of small papules or blisters at the upper end of the inner thigh corresponding to the scrotum, which develops to the surrounding area to form a semi-circular damage. The edges of the skin damage are clear and raised. After the inflammation subsides, the skin damage is reddish brown with scaling. It is usually unilateral, but bilateral symmetrical distribution is also seen. Because this area is sweaty, moist and prone to friction, the inflammatory reaction is generally more severe than corporis. In men, the left side of the tinea femoris is more severe, the skin damage area is larger, and it is often accompanied by severe itching. Sometimes it can affect the scrotum and penis, and in severe cases it can spread to the front, back and upper sides. Female tinea cruris often affects the buttocks, pubic area, and even the lower abdomen and waist, forming large rashes.
