Everyone should be familiar with prickly heat. You always hear someone around you having prickly heat. However, as you know, the symptoms of many skin diseases are very similar. It is often difficult to tell which is which. So what are the symptoms of prickly heat? 1. Prickly heat Commonly seen in intertriginous areas, the rash is a hatpin-sized, dense, thin-walled, transparent, small water blisters, about 1 mm in size, with easily broken walls, dew-drop-shaped in appearance, and no redness around them. They appear quickly, dry up and disappear after a few days, and have very thin, fine scales that fall off naturally after drying. There are often no conscious symptoms. It is more common in bedridden people, those with high fever and poor sweating, and those who are weak after surgery. This type of prickly heat is often caused by vitamin A deficiency. 2. Prickly heat It is usually seen in the hot and humid summer. The rash is prone to occur on the elbows, armpits, neck, chest, back, children's head and face, buttocks, and under the breasts of women, but not on the palms and soles of the feet. The onset is rapid, with erythema at the beginning, followed by densely arranged needle-sized papules or papules surrounded by red halos. The rash appears in batches, and there is mild desquamation after it subsides. Scratching may cause secondary infection and lead to folliculitis and swelling, which may sometimes last for several weeks. There is a burning and itching sensation. 3. Prickly heat Skin lesions are prone to occur in the flexor flanks of the limbs and genitals, and can also be seen on the head and neck of children. There are needle-sized shallow pustules on the top of the prickly heat, and bacteria can be found in the pustules. There is a tingling sensation, which may be accompanied by a slight or high fever. It often occurs in the affected areas of infantile eczema, diaper dermatitis, and contact dermatitis. People with poor body resistance or poor skin hygiene conditions may develop secondary infection on the basis of red prickly heat and form purulent prickly heat. 4. Deep prickly heat The rash is common on the trunk and neck. The skin lesions are dense, non-inflammatory, normal-skin-colored dark blisters that are consistent with the sweat pores. The diameter is about 1 to 3 mm. When the blisters are punctured, transparent liquid flows out. There is no erythema or itching. This disease often occurs in tropical areas, and patients with recurrent red miliaria are more common. Patients often have compensatory facial hyperhidrosis and enlarged lymph nodes in the groin and axillary fossa. Most of them have extensive loss of eccrine gland function. The enlarged lymph nodes gradually shrink as the miliaria disappears. |
