The symptoms of small intestinal tumors are as follows:

In clinical practice, when a disease such as small intestinal tumor occurs, patients should pay more attention to the symptoms of the disease. Therefore, the following article will introduce the symptoms of small intestinal tumor to you.

1. Abdominal pain

It is a common symptom. It can be caused by tumor surface erosion, irritation to the intestines and intestinal spasm. It can also be caused by intestinal obstruction or intussusception. When the tumor is huge and protrudes into the intestinal cavity, it can cause intestinal obstruction. Tumor invasion of the intestinal wall can cause intestinal stenosis and obstruction. This type of obstruction is more common in malignant small intestinal tumors. Intestinal intussusception is mostly caused by benign small intestinal tumors. It can occur acutely. , or it can recur chronically. 70% of cases present with varying degrees of abdominal pain. In the early stages, it is mostly caused by tumors causing intestinal motility disorders or pulling of the mesentery. The location of the pain corresponds to the location of the tumor, usually dull pain and bloating around the umbilicus. It worsens after eating and does not attract the patient's attention. If obstruction or perforation occurs, the abdominal pain worsens and the patient often seeks medical attention.

2. Gastrointestinal bleeding

About 1/3 to 2/3 of patients have bleeding caused by tumor surface erosion. Most of them are occult bleeding, which is manifested by positive stool occult blood test or black feces. Over a long period of time, iron deficiency anemia may occur. There may also be intermittent small amounts of bleeding or even a large amount of blood in the stool. The most likely to cause bleeding are leiomyoma and sarcoma, hemangioma and adenoma, neurofibroma, most of which are long-term occult blood in the stool, leading to anemia. Occasionally, there is fresh blood in the stool or a large amount of fresh blood in the stool, and even Shock and massive bleeding are first accompanied by paroxysmal abdominal pain and intestinal dysphoria, followed by the discharge of fresh bloody stools. Depending on the location of the tumor and the amount of bleeding, the stool may be coffee-colored, brown-red, sauce-red, or bright red. If there is massive bleeding from a tumor at the terminal ileum, the blood will be bright red, and vomiting and tarry stools may occur in the proximal jejunum. The bleeding rate of leiomyoma, hemangioma, and malignant lymphoma is high. Extracavitary leiomyoma may occasionally rupture and cause intra-abdominal bleeding.

3. Abdominal mass

Because the small intestine is highly mobile and its position is not fixed, small intestinal tumors can occasionally be palpated during physical examinations, but sometimes they cannot be palpated, and sometimes they are there and sometimes they are not. Most of the palpable lumps are large small intestinal sarcomas. In nearly half of the cases, lumps can be palpated in the abdomen. Jejunal tumors are often palpated in the left upper abdomen, and ileal tumors are mostly palpated in the lower abdomen. Exophytic intestinal tumors are usually large and can be felt in the lower abdomen or right lower abdomen. Benign tumors have a smooth surface, clear boundaries, and greater mobility. Malignant tumors usually have unclear boundaries, an uneven surface, are hard, and have less mobility. If the tumor appears and disappears from time to time and is accompanied by paroxysmal abdominal pain, in adults, intestinal intussusception caused by the tumor should be considered.
