What is depressive neurosis and what are its symptoms?

Depressive neurosis is also called neurotic depression. It is often caused by social pressure or extreme personal character. Patients will experience symptoms such as insomnia and anxiety. So what are the symptoms of this disease?

What is depressive neurosis?

Depressive neurosis, also known as neurotic depression, is caused by social and psychological factors and is often related to the patient's personality deviation. It is a neurological disorder characterized by persistent low mood, which can fluctuate in severity. It is often accompanied by anxiety, physical discomfort and sleep disorders. Patients have treatment requirements, but there is no obvious motor inhibition or hallucinations or delusions, and their life and work are not seriously affected.

The symptoms are specifically manifested in the following aspects.

① Decreased or even lost interest. The interest in daily activities and entertainment has obviously decreased, and they cannot experience fun and pleasure. They often avoid lively occasions and have no intention of lingering on beautiful scenery.

② Pessimistic and disappointed about the future. They believe that their work and career have reached a point where they cannot be saved, their personal prospects are bleak, and they think everything is hopeless.

③ Feeling mentally exhausted. Obviously lacking energy, unable to muster up energy, unable to cheer up even if you want to. Lack of motivation and enthusiasm for life and career, seemingly not wanting to do anything or move.

④ Helplessness. Feeling powerless to help oneself in the face of one’s own painful situation. Even if others try to help oneself, it is useless and the only thing left is to let it go.

⑤ Decreased self-evaluation. Exaggerating one's own shortcomings, often feeling inferior, self-blaming, and guilty, thinking oneself useless, and not being able to see one's own strengths and advantages. Some patients also blame others and feel wronged.

⑥ Feeling that life lacks meaning and value. They think that living has no meaning and often think that it is better to die than to live. They always think the worst when encountering things and even attempt to commit suicide, but in the specific implementation, they seem to be very cautious.
