What are the symptoms of zinc deficiency in men?

We all know that zinc is a very important trace element in the human body. It is involved in the synthesis of many enzymes in the body. So what symptoms will men who are sure of this have?

1. Low immunity

The main symptoms are constant and recurring colds, fatigue, stomach problems, susceptibility to infection, easy infection of wounds, and susceptibility to various diseases.

2. Male infertility

The zinc content in male testicles, epididymis, prostate and semen is about 200 times that in plasma. This is because zinc is closely related to special sexual physiology and is involved in many aspects of male reproductive physiology. Zinc deficiency can lead to male infertility.

3. Low sperm count and weak sperm count

Zinc is directly involved in the production, maturation, activation and capacitation of sperm, so it has a direct impact on the motility of sperm; and the total number of sperm can decrease with the decrease of zinc level in seminal plasma. Zinc is closely related to sperm density, sperm motility and sperm count, and its deficiency can lead to oligospermia and asthenospermia.

4. Semen does not liquefy

Under normal circumstances, male semen is in a liquefied state when it is just ejaculated, and in a very short time, it will solidify into a jelly or clot state. After about 10-30 minutes, the semen will liquefy into a watery liquid. This process is called semen liquefaction, which is a normal physiological phenomenon. If semen is discharged from the body and remains in a jelly state for more than 30 minutes, it is a pathological condition, called semen liquefaction.

5. Prostatitis

Normal prostatic fluid contains abundant zinc ions and has strong antibacterial effects. Zinc deficiency reduces the level of prostatic antibacterial factors and causes secretion dysfunction, which weakens the prostate's ability to resist infection. Pathogenic microorganisms can easily take advantage of the situation and enter the body, causing chronic prostatitis.
