Long-term cough may be related to these diseases

Cough is a common disease in life. Many people may suffer from other diseases when they have a cough. So, what diseases may cause long-term cough?

1. Cough and difficulty breathing

It is seen in laryngeal edema, laryngeal tumor, bronchial asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, severe pneumonia, pulmonary tuberculosis, large pleural effusion, pneumothorax, pulmonary congestion, pulmonary edema and tracheal or bronchial foreign bodies.

2. Cough with hemoptysis

It is commonly seen in bronchiectasis, pulmonary tuberculosis, pulmonary abscess, bronchial lung cancer, mitral valve stenosis, bronchial stones, pulmonary hemosiderosis, etc.

3. Cough with a lot of phlegm

It is common in bronchiectasis, pulmonary abscess, lung cyst with infection and bronchopleural fistula.

4. Cough with wheezing

It is common in bronchial asthma, chronic asthmatic bronchitis, cardiac asthma, diffuse bronchitis, foreign bodies in the trachea and bronchi, etc. When bronchial lung cancer causes incomplete obstruction of the trachea and bronchi, localized inspiratory wheezing may occur.
