What is cough variant asthma?

Characteristics of cough variant asthma

1. You have an allergic constitution or a family history of allergies.

2. The main symptoms are recurrent coughing, mainly dry cough, which worsens at night. When the cough is severe, the patient may feel shortness of breath or tightness in the chest.

3. The cough will worsen when encountering cold air, talking or smelling strange odors. For some patients, it is also related to overeating.

4. Many patients will have symptoms similar to "cold", such as runny nose, nasal congestion, sneezing, etc. In fact, this is not an ordinary "cold", but a manifestation of allergic rhinitis.

If you have the above symptoms and your chest X-ray is normal, be careful of asthma. Do not abuse antibiotics. Go to the respiratory department to do bronchial provocation tests, skin allergen tests, exhaled nitric oxide and blood allergy index tests to avoid delaying the disease.
