What is the difference between strawberry nose and rosacea?

Strawberry nose and rosacea are two common ENT diseases. Clinically, there are certain differences between the two. So, what are the differences between strawberry nose and rosacea?

Strawberry Nose

Strawberry nose is a blockage of hardened oil. It usually appears on the forehead, nose and other parts of the face. When the oil glands on the face are over-stimulated, the pores will be filled with excess oil. If they are not cleaned thoroughly in time, the oil glands will be blocked, and then the nose and face will feel greasy. Over time, these oils will eventually harden and oxidize into small black dots. These small dots are oil blockages called blackheads, commonly known as "strawberry nose" (blackheads).

Rosacea

Rosacea, also known as rosacea, is a chronic inflammatory skin disease with erythema and capillary dilation mainly occurring in the center of the face. It is more common in middle-aged people aged 30 to 50, and more common in women. The disease is prone to occur in the middle of the face, mainly on the tip of the nose and the wings of the nose, followed by the cheeks, chin, and forehead. It is often distributed symmetrically and is more common in middle-aged people, more common in women. Patients often have seborrhea, and the face is like grease. Skin lesions manifest as erythema, capillary dilation, and inflamed follicular papules and pustules. The course of the disease is slow and can be divided into three stages, but there is no obvious boundary. It is divided into 3 stages: erythema stage, papule stage, and hypertrophy stage.
