Why does your body produce abnormal sperm?

Teratozoospermia is when the sperm with normal morphology is less than 50%, that is, more than 50% of the sperm in the semen are abnormal. Teratozoospermia often exists at the same time as oligospermia and asthenospermia. If the three exist at the same time, we call it oligoasthenospermia and teratozoospermia. What are the causes of these symptoms and how to treat teratozoospermia? Let's take a look together.

1. Causes of teratozoospermia

With the accelerated pace of life and increased work pressure, more and more male infertility patients are found, among which sperm abnormalities are a common cause of male infertility. The main causes of sperm abnormalities are as follows:

1. Urinary and reproductive system infection: Urinary and reproductive system infection is an important factor leading to sperm abnormality. When urinary and reproductive system infection occurs, the nutrients in semen will decrease, causing sperm abnormality or death.

2. Endocrine disorders: The secretion of certain related hormones in the body is unbalanced, resulting in an increased rate of deformities. Experiments have shown that insufficient secretion of some hormones responsible for male reproductive function can directly affect the birth process of sperm in the patient's seminiferous tubules, leading to an increased rate of deformities.

3. Excessive smoking: Recent studies have found that smokers can significantly increase the incidence of sperm abnormalities. Those who smoke more than 30 cigarettes a day have a higher incidence of sperm abnormalities; the longer the smoking time, the more sperm abnormalities there are.

4. Alcoholism: Alcoholism is also a common cause of sperm abnormalities. Studies have shown that alcohol poisoning caused by alcoholism may damage sperm, increase the rate of sperm abnormalities, and also cause sexual dysfunction such as sexual apathy, impotence, and premature ejaculation.

5. Other reasons: Chemical agents, radiation, environmental pollution and other factors can cause sperm abnormalities.

2. Can teratozoospermia be cured?

There are also abnormal sperm in normal people's semen. If your abnormal sperm percentage exceeds 50%, it is called high abnormal sperm, which may lead to infertility. Teratozoospermia is caused by abnormal testicular development. Generally, it can be cured. In specific cases, you should go to the hospital for examination and timely treatment. Don't smoke, drink, stay up late, etc.

3. How to treat teratozoospermia

When sperm abnormalities occur, it can be very harmful to men and can easily affect fertility. Therefore, treatment of male sperm abnormalities is particularly necessary. There are several types of treatments:

1. For those caused by reproductive tract infection, anti-inflammatory treatment can be given. For those caused by endocrine abnormalities, endocrine function adjustment can be given. For patients, surgical treatment should be considered.

2. Treatment of infertility caused by high sperm abnormality rate should be based on the cause of sperm abnormality, eliminate adverse factors (drugs, radiation, high temperature, alcohol, etc.), and treat the cause. If the sperm abnormality rate exceeds 70%, chromosome examination should be performed. If there is a chromosomal disease, it will be difficult to treat.

3. Some people cultured semen of male infertile patients and found that 85% of them were positive for Ureaplasma urealyticum. When mycoplasma is present in semen, sperm motility is reduced, sperm density is reduced, and abnormal sperm increases. Using doxycycline for 2 weeks can restore fertility.

4. Artificial insemination between couples: Using the Perco density gradient centrifugation method, sperm with motility levels III and IV and normal morphology can be separated, reaching 90%, and then artificial insemination can be performed.

5. Eat more foods with high melanin content, such as black beans, black rice, black sesame seeds, walnuts, black fungus, etc.
