Getting married and having children is a natural thing. However, in recent years, it has been found that the number of young people suffering from infertility has gradually increased, and the reason is mostly due to a decrease in sperm. There are disease factors, but the survey results show that many people are affected by negative factors in their daily lives. He wrongly blamed his wife Mr. Lei is a recognized handsome guy in the unit, nearly 1.80 meters tall, with an athlete-like figure, and he especially likes to wear jeans. His wife Xiaoyun is 26 years old this year and is also a standard beauty. The combination of the two has attracted countless envious glances. But now, the couple has a quarrel, and I heard that they went to the hospital to see a doctor for a checkup. It's really confusing. Since my daughter and Xiaoyun work in the same unit and are good friends, we gradually figured out the whole story. It turned out that Mr. Lei and Xiaoyun had been married for more than three years and their sex life had been normal, but Xiaoyun showed no signs of pregnancy. Seeing that most of his colleagues had become parents, Mr. Lei felt even worse. Therefore, he began to have opinions about Xiaoyun, thinking that she was "incompetent", and later he even expressed it publicly. After Xiaoyun knew about it, of course she couldn't accept it, so the two quarreled and became awkward. Finally, they both went to the hospital for examination, and the result showed that the problem was with Mr. Lei. The doctor said that he suffered from oligospermia. He then realized that he had wrongly blamed his wife. Oligospermia, also known as lack of sperm, is one of the common causes of male infertility. According to the standards of the World Health Organization, a normal adult male should have more than 20 million sperm per milliliter of semen. Any sperm below 20 million is considered oligospermia. Oligospermia is often accompanied by low sperm survival rate and poor sperm motility. There are many reasons for low sperm count. In addition to problems with the testicles themselves, genital tract inflammation, varicocele, endocrine diseases or other external adverse factors, such as high temperature, drugs, long-term addiction to smoking and drinking, can also lead to oligospermia. After examination, Mr. Lei did not have the above organic diseases, nor did he have a habit of smoking and drinking, so it is very likely that temperature affected sperm survival. Chaniti's interesting experiment In 1982, Chaniti conducted an interesting diagnostic experiment. He used a precision thermometer to measure the scrotal surface temperature of fertile men with sperm counts of more than 100 million per milliliter and infertile men with sperm counts of less than 20 million per milliliter. When undressed, the temperature of scrotum surface of fertile women was 31.8-32.5 degrees Celsius; that of infertile women was 33.1-33.4 degrees Celsius. When clothed, the temperature of scrotum surface of infertile women increased by 1.2-1.5 degrees Celsius. He then adopted a unique method of hypothermia therapy: he asked the patient to wear a scrotal bag with a thin layer of gauze inside, and hung a small bottle filled with ice water or cold water around his waist. The bottle was connected to the scrotal bag with a thin tube, and the siphon effect was used to make the liquid slowly flow out to moisten the gauze. By applying cold compresses, the scrotal temperature was reduced by an average of about 2 degrees Celsius, and the device was worn for 16 hours a day. After 23 weeks, 16 of the 25 subjects had an increase in sperm count and 6 had fertility. In 1977, the biology department of a certain college conducted an experiment on 40 volunteers, asking them to soak their lower bodies in warm water at 43 to 44 degrees Celsius for 20 minutes. The results showed that the number of sperm decreased significantly. From this, we can see that the testicles do need a "low temperature" environment that is lower than the normal body temperature (37 degrees Celsius) to produce sperm. Generally speaking, the temperature required for human testicles to produce sperm is 35.5-36 degrees Celsius. If you avoid high temperatures in the scrotum, it is possible to reduce the occurrence of oligospermia. Jeans, Saunas and Infertility At present, a kind of male contraceptive pants has appeared in the foreign market. Its appearance is the same as that of ordinary briefs. It is made of fabric with a certain elasticity and tension, and a sponge testicle support is nailed on it. When wearing jeans, the testicles can be closely attached to the skin of the vulva and inner thighs. After 7-8 weeks, the number of sperm in the semen can be reduced to zero, and the effective contraceptive period is more than 70 days. This contraceptive method was invented by experts based on the survey conclusion that "people who wear jeans for a long time are more likely to suffer from infertility." Young people like to wear jeans, which tighten their hips and thighs. This will make the scrotum stick tightly to the nearby skin, hindering the dissipation of heat, which is very bad for sperm production. Fertility experts have found that many Western men have reduced the sperm content in their semen by 50% due to wearing tight pants. Similarly, frequent sauna baths can also cause male infertility. Although the hot air in the sauna can promote blood circulation in the human body, speed up metabolism, and achieve the purpose of eliminating fatigue. However, the temperature of the sauna is as high as 70-80 degrees Celsius, which can cause the scrotal temperature to rise sharply, reduce the number of sperm, and even cause dead sperm, leading to infertility. Frequent hot water bathing, especially long-term sitting bathing, will also cause the scrotal temperature to be too high and the number of sperm to decrease. |
