Why do men urinate frequently and painfully?

Frequent urination in men is one of the common male diseases. There are many reasons for frequent urination. So what is the reason for frequent urination in men? In fact, adults urinate 4-6 times a day on average and 0-2 times at night after going to bed. If the number of urination increases significantly and exceeds the above range, it is frequent urination. So, what are the reasons for frequent urination in men? Let me tell you.

What causes frequent urination in men?

1. Reproductive infectious diseases

Chronic prostatitis is a common inflammatory disease of the male urinary system, which is more common in young and middle-aged men. Patients may experience frequent urination, urgent urination, white dripping after urination, incomplete urination, thin urine stream, and difficulty urinating. The treatment of chronic prostatitis is somewhat difficult and is prone to recurrence. The key is that many patients are improperly treated, treated in time, and do not pay attention to preventive care after recovery.

2. Acute prostatitis

Frequent urination, urgency, incomplete urination and painful urination are generally caused by prostatitis, which can be divided into acute prostatitis and chronic prostatitis.

In acute prostatitis, patients may experience frequent urination, urgency, and pain during urination. They may also experience dribbling urine, terminal hematuria, swelling and pain in the perineum, and pain that radiates to the genitals, lumbar region, or thighs. They may also experience high fever, chills, headache, body pain, fatigue, and loss of appetite.

3. Chronic prostatitis

In chronic prostatitis, patients may experience symptoms such as frequent urination, urgent urination, incomplete urination, thin and forked urine stream, increased frequency of nocturia, weak urination, difficulty urinating, fever, back pain, abdominal pain, penile pain, discomfort or swelling in the testicles, perineum, and anus, moist scrotum with odor, decreased or absent libido, premature ejaculation, impotence or painful ejaculation, headache, fatigue, dizziness, tinnitus, insomnia, etc.

4. Prostatic hyperplasia

Prostatic hyperplasia is common in middle-aged and elderly men. After middle age, the secretory function of the prostate gland continues to decline, causing prostatic hyperplasia, which compresses the posterior urethra, resulting in a series of problems such as frequent urination at night, urgency, and dribbling urine. The urination problems of patients with prostatic hyperplasia are caused by urethral obstruction or weak bladder contraction, which is extremely harmful to health.

5. Chronic cystitis

Frequent urination is also a common symptom of chronic cystitis. Chronic cystitis is mostly caused by bacterial invasion under the condition of poor resistance.

As the body's immune system begins to decline, bacteria can enter the bladder from the blood or lymph, but more commonly they enter the bladder from the urethra or directly from the kidneys. Chronic cystitis will cause frequent urination, painful urination, and purulent urine, but frequent urination is more common.

How to treat frequent urination in men

1. Bladder training therapy

Enhance the nervous system's ability to control urination, reduce bladder sensitivity, and reverse abnormal urination habits.

2. Oral product therapy

You can choose the medicine suitable for your condition for oral treatment after consulting a doctor.

3. Lockdown therapy

Although occlusion therapy can relieve frequent urination and urgency, it will cause some damage to the urethra or bladder. Improper operation may cause inflammation.

4. Estrogen therapy

Take small doses of estrogen for treatment. However, estrogen should be used with caution for men, so as not to turn yourself into a sissy.

5. Surgical treatment

Pelvic or sinus lithotomy: Opening the renal pelvis and removing stones, staghorn stones or renal cisterns, sometimes requires an internal pelvic or sinus lithotomy.

Renal parenchyma lithotomy: If the renal stones are large and cannot be removed through the renal sinus, the renal parenchyma needs to be opened to remove the stones.

Partial nephrectomy: This treatment for frequent urination is suitable for multiple stones in the primary renal pole (mostly in the lower pole of the kidney) or in the dilated and poorly drained renal clavicle. The primary renal pole or the renal clavicle can be removed together with the stones.

Nephrectomy: If one side has kidney stones and severe hydronephrosis or renal abscesses, which has caused severe damage to or loss of kidney function, and the other side has good kidney function, the affected kidney can be removed.

6. Dietary adjustment therapy

Improve living habits, eating habits, and sleeping habits. For patients who have prostate disease and are undergoing treatment, it is advisable to drink more water, not hold urine, eat more vegetables and fruits, avoid spicy food, smoking, and drinking a lot of alcohol.

In daily diet, you should pay attention to properly control the intake of salt to help the kidney retain water. You can drink light salt water and low-concentration sugar water, and do not drink a lot of high-calorie beverages to prevent excessive calorie intake from causing rapid weight gain. If the body loses a lot of potassium, you should supplement with potassium-rich foods, such as mushrooms, cabbage, beans, peanuts, walnuts, watermelons, bananas, etc.

As a man who supports the family, he is usually very busy at work, but he still needs to pay more attention to his health. When he finds himself with this phenomenon, he should pay attention. When the disease develops to a certain extent, it will compress the posterior urethra or block the bladder outlet, causing difficulty in urination. In severe cases, he may even be unable to urinate. Therefore, daily preventive conditioning and timely medical treatment are necessary.
