What causes left testicle to become enlarged?

The testicles are male reproductive organs, located on the left and right sides. They grow with sexual maturity and gradually shrink with aging. The testicles are closely related to male secondary sexual characteristics and physiological functions. When the testicles become diseased, it is very likely that men will develop azoospermia, infertility, and sexual function damage. There is also a probability of inducing other diseases, threatening men's health. When the left testicle becomes larger, it may be swollen.

The left testicle is mostly swollen due to inflammatory lesions of the testicle, and it may also be due to scrotal reasons: Orchitis: There are many causes of orchitis. For example, patients with mumps may develop orchitis and have testicular pain and swelling. Gonorrhea is currently the sexually transmitted disease with the highest incidence rate. In severe cases, it can cause orchitis and testicular pain and swelling.

Testicular torsion: Testicular torsion is one of the common acute diseases in the scrotum. It can occur in newborns to 70-year-olds, and 65% occur in 12-19 years old. Generally, there is vigorous activity a few hours before the onset of the disease, or the testicles have been subjected to external force. Sudden severe testicular pain during sleep or quiet time is the first symptom of this disease and one of its main diagnostic bases. Some patients are accompanied by nausea and vomiting, scrotal swelling, and obvious tenderness. For patients who suspect or cannot rule out testicular torsion, surgical exploration and reduction and fixation should be performed as soon as possible to save the testicles and protect spermatogenesis. It is generally believed that the testicular rescue rate can reach 80% for those who treat testicular torsion within 6 hours, but only 20% for those who treat it after 24 hours. Even if the testicle can be preserved at this time, the function of the affected testicle is often damaged.

If there is a problem with the testicles, it must be discovered and treated early to avoid the chance of infertility. In the acute stage, you should pay attention to bed rest and protection. If the patient has fever symptoms, you should give him some food with high protein content and high calories to replenish his energy. In terms of diet, be careful not to eat spicy food to avoid stimulation.
