Why is the left testicle smaller than the right testicle?

The testicle is a very important reproductive organ for male patients. Generally speaking, male patients have two testicles, one on each side, which are normally oval in shape. Some patients may have testicles of different sizes, and they may also be different in height. However, if the difference between the two sides of the patient is not too big, generally no special treatment is required, and it is a normal phenomenon. If the testicles are enlarged this time, the patient may have orchitis, or fever, and local pain. At this time, the patient should go to the hospital for diagnosis early to prevent affecting the patient's normal function.

Testicles are male internal reproductive organs. Normal men have two testicles, one on the left and one on the right side of the scrotum. Testicles are oval and grayish white. Adult testicles are 3.5-4.5 cm long, 2-3 cm wide, 1-2 cm thick, and each testicle weighs 10-15 grams. Generally, the left testicle is about 1 cm lower than the right testicle. Some people have one testicle that is larger than the other, one that is higher than the other. If the difference is not big, it is normal. Of course, if the size of the testicles on both sides was basically similar in the past, and one testicle suddenly becomes significantly larger in the near future, you should go to the hospital for examination in time. If one testicle is enlarged, accompanied by fever and local pain, it may be epididymitis or orchitis. If the testicles are enlarged without any symptoms, the possibility of testicular tumor should be considered and timely examination should be conducted without any carelessness. In addition, if the two testicles are quite different since childhood, it is considered that when one testicle is absent or underdeveloped, the other testicle is hyperplastic in compensation. Generally, no special treatment is required.

Generally speaking, male testicles can vary in size, but the difference is not too big. If the difference between the left and right testicles is obvious, it is suspected that the patient has some disease in the testicles. Some testicular inflammation or tumorous lesions may cause the patient to have enlarged testicles, but when the disease occurs, the difference between the patient's testicles is generally obvious. At this time, the patient must go to the hospital for early treatment. If the testicles are insufficiency, it will affect the patient's normal reproductive function.
