Male urethral itching and purulent discharge

The urethra is particularly important for men. The male urethra controls both urination and ejaculation, and has a dual function. The urethra is a tube that leads from the bladder to the outside of the body. The male urethra is long and thin, about 18cm long, starting from the inner opening of the urethra in the bladder and ending at the outer opening of the urethra. The male urethra has both urination and ejaculation functions according to the male prostate, membrane and cavernous body. 1. Gonorrhea is often transmitted through unclean sexual contact and is classified as a type of sexually transmitted disease. Chlamydia urethritis will occur after infection with chlamydia. The typical characteristics are frequent urination, urgency, inability to hold urine, pain when urinating, stinging pain in the urethra when urinating, and discharge of yellowish purulent secretions from the urethra. Active treatment is required. If not treated, chlamydial urethral stenosis may occur in the later stage, causing patients to have difficulty urinating.

2. Non-chlamydial urethritis is commonly caused by chlamydia and mycoplasma infection and is also a type of sexually transmitted disease. Its typical characteristics are frequent urination, urgency, inability to hold urine, itching in the urethra, burning sensation in the urethra, and thin, yellowish or milky discharge from the urethra.

When men have urethral purulent discharge, urinary urethral itching, they should choose to do pus examination for chlamydia, mycoplasma, chlamydia, concentrate for bacterial culture and drug sensitivity test, and urine test. This kind of examination can reasonably identify which bacteria are infected and choose the best treatment plan. For chlamydia infection, cephalosporin drugs are strongly recommended, intramuscular injection, and continued for 3 days. For non-gonococcal infection, intravenous infusion of antibiotics is strongly recommended, which can achieve effective treatment. If it is a general bacterial infection, oral anti-inflammatory drugs are strongly recommended.

Men should drink plenty of water during the treatment period. The urine produced by the kidneys can clean the bladder and urethra, which is beneficial to the excretion of bacteria. Drinking plenty of water every day and urinating every 2 to 3 hours can prevent the growth of bacteria in the urethra and reduce the incidence of urinary tract infection. If the sexual partner is infected, he should be treated separately and not drink alcohol during the treatment period.
