Clinical manifestations and diagnosis of sebaceous gland ectopy

Clinical manifestations and diagnosis of sebaceous gland ectopy

Sebaceous gland ectopy is a sebaceous gland disease caused by physiological changes in the development of sebaceous glands and sebaceous gland hyperplasia. The disease occurs on the foreskin and often occurs in the late puberty. Many people do not know what it means to have the disease, and usually think that it is a skin disease and do not pay attention to it. Although the disease generally does not become malignant, if the following symptoms occur, it is still recommended to detect and treat it early.

Clinical manifestations

Ectopic prepuce sebaceous glands usually occur after puberty, more common in middle-aged people, and more common in men than in women. This disease occurs in the external genitalia mainly on the penis, foreskin, frenulum, and rarely on the glans penis in men, and mainly on the labia majora and minora and perineum in women. The lesions in this area are characterized by millet-sized flat papule-like lesions without obvious raised skin, distributed in clusters, mostly light yellow or a few light white, with a diameter of 1 to 3 mm, and generally not malignant. Some can merge into dense irregular patches with a smooth surface, which can be more clearly seen when the skin is tightened, and feel like fine mud and sand when touched. The lesions are mostly asymptomatic.

Diagnosis

1. Sebaceous gland ectopia is mainly located in the foreskin and labia majora and minora. Condyloma acuminatum is more likely to occur in the coronal sulcus, glans penis, vaginal opening, etc.

2. Ectopic sebaceous glands of the foreskin are usually light yellow in color and have no obvious protrusions above the skin surface.

3. The acetic acid white test for ectopic sebaceous glands of the foreskin is negative.

4. Long-term observation of the sebaceous gland ectopy of the foreskin shows no increase in size or size.

5. The characteristics of histopathological examination are that in the latter case, concave cells can be seen in the epidermis, while in this disease, there are no such concave cells.

After reading the above information about the clinical manifestations and diagnosis of ectopic sebaceous glands, I believe everyone already knows how to basically judge whether the disease exists. Your body is your own, and no matter what abnormalities occur in a certain part of your body, we should pay enough attention to it. If we wait until the problems accumulate, it will be more difficult to solve. I wish you all a happy life.
