What are the symptoms of impotence?

Impotence is a common male disease, which has a great impact on male sexual life. Once a man finds out that he has impotence, he must receive treatment immediately. Otherwise, when the impotence disease becomes serious, the treatment will not only be complicated and take a long time, but also cause great harm to men's physical and mental health. So what are the symptoms of impotence? Many men are not very clear about it. Let me introduce it in detail below.

Symptoms of impotence:

1. General

Attention should be paid to body shape, hair and subcutaneous fat distribution, muscle strength, secondary sexual characteristics, and the presence of gynecomastia, etc. This is related to the presence of abnormal gonadal function such as cortisol, thyroid disease, hyperprolactinemia, and testicular dysfunction.

2. Cardiovascular system

Measuring blood pressure and pulse in the limbs, and absence or weakening of femoral and popliteal artery pulses may indicate embolism or stenosis of the abdominal aorta or iliac artery.

3. Nervous system

Pay special attention to the pain, touch and temperature difference sensation in the lower back, lower limbs, perineum and penis, the vibration sensation of the penis and toes, the bulbocavernous body reflex (when the glans penis is stimulated, the finger inserted into the anus should feel the anal sphincter contraction) and other changes in the nervous system.

4. External genitalia

(1) Check for any abnormalities in the size, shape, and foreskin of the penis. Carefully palpate the corpus cavernosum of the penis. If there are fibrous plaques, this indicates corpus cavernosum induration. Foreskin, foreskin adhesions, or a short frenulum can all affect normal erectile function;

(2) Testicular size and texture, presence of hydrocele, epididymal cyst, and varicocele, etc. Huge hydrocele and hernia can also affect normal sexual intercourse;

(3) Anal digital examination can be used to examine the size, texture, presence of nodules and tenderness of the prostate, and the tension of the anal sphincter. Anal digital examination should be given particular attention to ED patients over 50 years of age.

After understanding the symptoms of impotence, when treating male impotence, men need to pay attention to this period and not have sexual life, otherwise it will not help improve the disease. At the same time, men should not choose to smoke or drink. They should eat normally and eat less greasy food, which has a good effect on alleviating impotence.
