Introduction to the infection routes of penile tuberculosis

Penile tuberculosis is a reproductive disease. Male friends must pay attention to active prevention and treatment and understand the routes of infection, such as direct contact infection, or hardware on the glans penis and chronic ulcers. All of these must be taken seriously.

1. Infection route

(1) Direct contact: For example, when the penis contacts the vagina or cervix with tuberculous lesions during sexual intercourse. This mainly occurs near the glans penis and the external urethra.

(2) Most cases are secondary to pulmonary tuberculosis, which spreads through the bloodstream to the corpus cavernosum of the penis.

(3) In patients with severe urethral tuberculosis, the rupture may spread directly to the penis and form a fistula.

Causes

(1) Nodules and chronic ulcers on the glans penis;

(2) Finding tuberculosis bacteria by direct smear or tuberculosis culture can distinguish between soft chancre, hard chancre, penile amebiasis and penile cancer;

(3) The diagnosis can be confirmed by pathological biopsy.

2. Clinical manifestations

Clinical manifestations include frequent urination and hematuria secondary to urogenital tuberculosis. The lesions start from the glans penis, frenulum, coronal sulcus, etc. In the early stage, there is a mung bean-sized hard nodule with swelling and hardening around it. There is no pain, and it gradually forms an ulcer with irregular shape and infiltrative edges. There is purulent moss on the surface of the ulcer, which is difficult to remove and painless. The erythrocyte sedimentation rate is fast. The Wachandon reaction is negative.
