Generally, when urinating, some people will find a stinging sensation at the urethral opening. When faced with this problem, some people do not pay attention to it. In fact, this may be caused by non-gonococcal urethritis or other urinary tract infections. Non-gonococcal urethritis is actually a sexually transmitted disease, so everyone needs to pay attention to prevention. Let’s learn about its clinical manifestations below. 1. Male non-gonococcal urethritis (1) Symptoms include urethral itching, burning sensation and pain during urination. A few patients have frequent urination and the urethra opening is slightly red. In the morning, there is a small amount of mucous secretion or only a crusty opening at the urethra opening, or the pantyhose is dirty and the urine stream will be bifurcated when urinating. Some patients need to squeeze hard with their hands to make the secretions overflow from the urethra opening. The symptoms are similar to gonococcal urethritis, but the degree is milder. Some patients have no symptoms. Patients are also infected with gonorrhea at the same time. (2) Complications ① Epididymitis: The infection extends along the vas deferens to the epididymis, with typical symptoms of urethritis and epididymitis coexisting. The most common is acute epididymitis, which is mostly unilateral and often caused by trachoma organism variants. ② Prostatitis: Subacute prostatitis is more common, and chronic prostatitis may be asymptomatic or have perineal dull pain and penile pain. ③ Reoter syndrome: It occurs in 0.8%-3% of NGU patients, more common in men than in women. It includes urethritis, polyarthritis and conjunctivitis, etc. 2. Female urogenital infections often spread from the cervix to other parts. (1) Mucopurulent cervicitis is characterized by increased vaginal discharge, no swelling or erosion of the cervix, but no obvious clinical symptoms. (2) Urethritis is characterized by burning sensation in the urethra or frequent urination. Examination of the urethral opening shows congestion, slight redness or normal. Extrusion of the urethra reveals secretions. Many patients have no symptoms. (3) Combined pelvic inflammatory disease includes salpingitis and endometritis. This disease may lead to ectopic pregnancy or infertility. 3. Neonatal conjunctivitis and pneumonia are caused by birth canal infection. For mothers with trachoma variant cervicitis, 40% to 50% of their newborns may suffer from conjunctivitis, which usually occurs within 5-14 days after birth. Neonatal pneumonia occurs 2-3 weeks after birth, but is mostly diagnosed at 6 weeks. D-K trachoma variants can be isolated from conjunctival, nasopharyngeal and tracheal secretions. You can observe whether you have similar symptoms and manifestations in your life. If so, it can be basically determined that you are affected by non-gonococcal urethritis. At this time, you must not take it lightly and must actively take treatment and preventive measures to avoid making this disease become more serious. |
