The prostate is an important accessory gland organ of men, and it is more prone to problems. Checking the prostate fluid is a matter of concern for men's health and a matter of family. The changes in the biochemical composition of the prostate secretion fluid can reflect the physiological function of the prostate. To accurately judge the pathological changes of the prostate, it is necessary to check the prostate fluid. There are many tests that can be done on the prostate fluid, which are also the normal standard values. The following will introduce how to check the prostate fluid routinely. 1. Check the color and quantity Color inspection [Normal reference value] Light milky white thin liquid. [Clinical significance] When prostate disease occurs (such as prostatitis, prostate cancer), red sticky or light yellow pus-like fluid may appear. Quantity inspection [Normal reference value] A few drops to 1ml. [Clinical significance] The excretion volume increases in prostatitis. Inspection of ingredients and contents Phosphatidylcholine body assay [Normal reference value] Large amount, evenly distributed throughout the field of vision. [Clinical significance] In prostatitis, lecithin bodies often decrease or disappear, and are unevenly distributed, tending to form piles. Amyloid assay [Normal reference value] Rare, more common in the elderly. [Clinical significance] It is more common in the elderly and is generally believed to have no obvious relationship with the disease. 2. Cytological examination [Normal reference value] White blood cells: <10/HP (high power microscope field of view); Erythrocytes: <5/HP; Epithelial cells: a small amount; Granulocytes: occasionally; Cancer cells: none. [Clinical significance] 1. In prostatitis, the number of white blood cells increases, and white blood cells can be seen in clusters in the prostatic fluid. 2. Prostate cancer causes an increase in red blood cells. Excessive massage may also cause more red blood cells to be seen. 3. When the prostate gland is diseased, an increase in epithelial cells can be seen. 4. In patients with prostatitis or the elderly, prostatic granulocytosis may be observed. 5. Cancer cells were found in prostatic fluid, which has diagnostic value for prostate cancer. 3. Trichomonas test [Normal reference value] None. [Clinical significance] The detection of trichomonas in prostatic fluid has a diagnostic effect on trichomonal prostatitis. Sperm test [Normal reference value] None. [Clinical significance] The detection of sperm in prostatic fluid has nothing to do with disease. Sperm may appear in prostatic fluid because the seminal vesicles are massaged and compressed when the prostatic fluid is collected. 4. Bacterial Examination [Normal reference value] None. [Clinical significance] When the prostate is abscessed, the secretion is thick and often contains sticky threads. Bacteria can also be found, and common pathogens include E. coli, Staphylococcus, and Streptococcus. The standard of routine examination of prostatic fluid is that prostatic fluid is secreted by the prostate. Under normal circumstances, it is relatively thin, colorless or light milky white liquid with a protein luster. Doctors can perform some of the items as needed to check the health of men. The above is the introduction to the routine examination of prostatic fluid. |
