What are the symptoms of male urogenital tract infection?

Urogenital infection is just a collection of diseases. Because the reproductive system is composed of many organs, the symptoms of urogenital infection are also relatively complex. For example, in men, prostatitis, orchitis, urethritis, and cystitis are all urogenital infections. Therefore, if you want to know the specific symptoms of urogenital infection, you must first understand the symptoms of these diseases. The specific symptoms of urogenital infection are as follows:

1. Orchitis

One of the symptoms of urinary tract infection. Orchitis is quite rare, and its infection route is blood-borne, lymphatic and direct spread. The main symptoms of orchitis are: testicular swelling, pain, fever, and sometimes chills. When men suffer from acute orchitis, they may have difficulty in sexual intercourse, because the congestion of blood vessels caused by excitement can cause pain in the inflamed testicles, and the pressure generated during sexual intercourse, as well as the rotation and elevation of the testicles can also cause pain.

2. Urethritis and cystitis

One of the symptoms of urinary tract infection. Almost all sources of infection can cause lower urinary tract infection, but bacterial infection is the most common. Urethritis is usually divided into two types: gonococcal and non-gonococcal. In routine examinations and bacterial culture, no pathogens are found in about 90% of non-gonococcal urethritis, so this type of infection is called "non-specific urethritis". If specific methods are used for examination, Chlamydia trachomatis can be isolated from 42% of male non-gonococcal urethra.

3. Balanitis

One of the symptoms of urinary tract infection. The common clinical types of balanitis are as follows, and their symptoms are: (1) Acute superficial balanitis is characterized by local flushing at the onset, redness and swelling of the skin of the penis, and a burning and itching sensation in the glans. When the foreskin is turned back, the inner surface of the foreskin and the glans can be seen to be congested and eroded, with exudate and even bleeding. After secondary infection, small ulcers can be seen, with a foul-smelling milky white purulent secretion. If it rubs against underwear, it will be painful, and the patient often has difficulty in moving. It may be accompanied by enlargement and tenderness of the inguinal lymph nodes. (2) Annular ulcerated balanoposthitis: Erythema can be seen on the glans and foreskin. It gradually expands and becomes ring-shaped, and may form a superficial ulcer.

4. Prostatitis

One of the symptoms of urinary tract infection. Chronic bacterial prostatitis is the most common cause of recurrent urinary tract infection in men. The disease is usually caused by Gram-negative bacilli, the most important of which is Escherichia coli (caused by this bacterium in about 80% of patients). Other pathogens include Klebsiella, Proteobacterium mirabilis, Pseudomonas, and Enterobacteriaceae.

The above are all specific introductions to the symptoms of male urogenital infection. The most serious consequence of urogenital infection is that it affects fertility. Therefore, when facing urogenital infection, patients must actively seek treatment and should not choose to avoid treatment due to some psychological burden, as this will only make their disease more and more serious.
