The respiratory tract becomes narrow due to muscle relaxation, and the sound of airflow passing through the narrow airway is snoring. Lying on your side is an effective way to prevent snoring. For patients with breath-holding snoring, their family members must be vigilant. Once they find that their sleep apnea has occurred, they must wake the patient up in time to avoid accidents caused by breath-holding.

2. Sleep breathing monitoring

Want to know if you snore or how severe your snoring is? Experts suggest that you put a recording device (MP3, etc.) at the bedside before going to bed at night to record your sleep. If your snoring is severe, you are advised to do a sleep apnea monitoring to determine whether treatment is needed and how to treat it. If you are diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea syndrome, you should receive timely treatment to avoid inducing other diseases or accidents.

3. Taking sleeping pills

The effect of drug treatment is not ideal. Different surgical methods can be used to treat different obstruction sites and different anatomical structures. Positive airway pressure ventilation therapy with few side effects and good treatment effect is the first choice. People who drink alcohol, smoke, take sleeping pills for a long time, and are obese and have short necks are prone to snoring. Therefore, quitting smoking and drinking, losing weight, and not taking sleeping pills are good ways to prevent snoring.
