1. Promiscuous and unclean sex life Disordered and unclean sex life can easily lead to male reproductive tract infection. Pathogens that cause reproductive tract infection include gonococci, tuberculosis, viruses, mycoplasma, chlamydia, trichomonas, etc., among which mycoplasma and chlamydia are the most common. Reproductive tract infection first affects the production and transportation of sperm, causing oligospermia and resulting in decreased reproductive capacity. Reproductive tract infection can also cause changes in sperm motility. Reproductive tract infection can inhibit the secretion of accessory glands, causing insufficient semen secretion, lack of semen nutrition, changes in acidity and alkalinity, and changes in semen composition, thereby affecting the growth environment of sperm, causing a serious decrease in sperm motility and quantity, leading to infertility.
2. Smoking and drinking Men are very sensitive to the toxins in cigarettes and alcohol, especially reproductive cells. Studies have shown that nicotine in tobacco can reduce the secretion of sex hormones and kill sperm. For those who smoke 30 cigarettes a day, the sperm survival rate is only 49%. The secretion of male hormones in smokers is 16% to 47% less than that of non-smokers, which reduces the ability to produce sperm accordingly. Long-term alcohol abuse can damage the spermatogenic cells in the testicles and affect sperm production.
3. Warm environment damages testicles Long-term high-temperature work, hot water baths, and long-term wearing of tight pants will cause obstacles to the scrotum's function of regulating temperature. Many men wear tight pants for a long time to show their bodybuilding body, but they don't know that tight pants will firmly stick the scrotum and testicles together, so that the heat dissipation function of the scrotal skin cannot be exerted, thereby increasing the local temperature of the testicles and hindering sperm production. In addition, wearing tight pants will also restrict and hinder blood circulation in the scrotum area, causing testicular congestion and leading to infertility. The testicle is an organ that produces sperm. During the spermatogenesis process, the testicle requires a temperature of 35.5℃ to 36.5℃, which is 1 to 1.5℃ lower than normal body temperature. Frequent bathing with very hot water, especially bathing in a tub or sauna, keeps the scrotum at a high temperature, which will affect the spermatogenesis function of the testicles.
4. Improper diet Nutritional deficiencies, such as vitamin A deficiency, can lead to the failure of spermatogenic epithelium to grow; vitamin B deficiency can affect pituitary function and reduce fertility; vitamin C plays an important role in preventing semen coagulation and maintaining sperm motility; vitamin E deficiency can cause testicular damage; calcium and phosphorus deficiency can reduce fertility; and the deficiency of trace elements zinc and magnesium can also have a significant impact on sperm production and motility. In addition, consuming crude cottonseed oil, the cottonpol in the oil can damage spermatogenic cells and cause infertility; eating too much celery can also cause infertility. After 10 years of research, a Thai doctor proved that celery has a contraceptive effect. The men who took the test ate 75 grams of cooked celery every day for 1 to 2 weeks. The number of sperm in these men decreased significantly, from the normal tens of millions to 100 million sperm per milliliter of semen to only 3,000 per milliliter. Such a small number of sperm makes it difficult for women to get pregnant.
5. Exposure to toxic substances Many chemicals can affect male reproductive function. For example, organic pesticides: DDT, dieldrin, pine oil, etc. Organophosphorus: parathion (1605), dichlorvos, etc. Others include fungicides, acaricides, nitroso food additives, etc. There are also some items containing metal elements such as copper, cadmium, lead, mercury, etc.
6. Harm from Drugs Modern medical research has shown that many drugs can cause male infertility, including anti-tumor drugs, anti-rheumatic drugs, anti-hypertensive drugs, hormone drugs, sedatives and anesthetics (marijuana, heroin and other drugs). For example, cyclophosphamide can cause testicular spermatogenesis dysfunction; methotrexate, cortisone preparations, sulfasalazine, etc. can cause a decrease in sperm count and sperm motility; cimetidine, etc. indirectly reduce sperm motility by inhibiting the secretion of male hormones. Long-term use of tripterygium wilfordii can also reduce sperm count.
7. Excessive or inappropriate sexual activity Although the testicles can produce tens to hundreds of millions of sperm every day, it takes 5 to 7 days for the sperm to mature and reach a sufficient number after one ejaculation. If you have sex too often or without restraint, the amount of sperm ejaculated each time is small, and it is naturally difficult to conceive. In addition, intermittent sex, masturbation, or prolonged sex can lead to aseptic prostatitis, which directly affects the nutritional content of semen and sperm motility, causing infertility. 8. Excessive exposure to female substances With the development of society and changes in various environments, people have more and more opportunities to be exposed to low-dose female substances for a long time, such as artificially raised freshwater fish and poultry. Long-term consumption of such foods is also an important reason for the decrease in male sperm count. |
