What are the causes of blood in men's stools?

The most common causes of blood in the stool for boys are hemorrhoids and anal fissures. Hemorrhoids are usually painless red purulent bloody stools, which may drip or spurt after defecation. Anal fissures are usually very painful, and the pain will subside two hours after defecation. Hemorrhoids and anal fissures often exist at the same time, because the causes are basically the same and are related to long-term constipation, drinking, long-term sitting, long-term standing, and bad bowel habits. They may also be related to gastrointestinal tumors, intestinal polyps, colitis, etc.

Once blood in the stool occurs, you should go to the hospital for an outpatient check-up to find out the cause and treat it accordingly. For example, hemorrhoid bleeding can be treated conservatively first, with the application of Mayinglong Hemorrhoid Cream and Taining Suppository. Conservative treatment has no practical effect, and immediate surgical treatment should be considered. If enteroscopic examination indicates rectal cancer or polyps, immediate surgical treatment or endoscopic surgery should be considered.

There are many reasons why boys have blood in their stools. The first one is that it may be hemorrhoid bleeding, especially internal hemorrhoids, which mainly manifests as blood or blood spurting during bowel movements. The blood in the stool is usually red.

Secondly, hard and dry stools may cause ruptures in the anal skin, and blood stains may form on the surface of the excrement during defecation.

Third, if there are rectal polyps and rectal adenomas, long-term defecation irritation will cause rupture of blood vessels on the surface of the mucosa, which will also cause blood in the stool. Therefore, there are many reasons for boys to have blood in the stool. It should be combined with medical history, whether there is a history of gastrointestinal ulcers and intestinal polyps, combined with physical examination, and necessary anoscopy or colonoscopy. If the stool is black, considering upper gastrointestinal bleeding, gastroscopy, duodenoscope or colon capsule endoscopy can be performed to confirm the cause and location of the bleeding.
