It is normal to have foam in the morning urine. This is because morning urine is mainly caused by a large amount of urine in the bladder after a night's sleep. The urine accumulates in the bladder, especially when you eat a lot of food at night. After these foods are digested and absorbed by the human body, a large amount of organic and inorganic salts will be formed. The surface tension of these organic and inorganic salts is different, and the concentration of urine will be high. After it is discharged into the urinal, a large amount of foamy urine will be found. This is a very normal phenomenon, don't worry. 1. Powerful urination

Foam often forms as the urine stream hits the toilet. However, afterward, the foam disappears.

2. Dehydration

Dehydration can also cause foamy urine. When the body doesn't have enough fluids to function properly, the concentration of waste particles in the urine can become very high. This can change the consistency of the urine and increase the foaming. In this case, the urine can also turn dark yellow or amber.

3. Excessive protein (proteinuria)

The kidneys filter the blood and remove waste products with the help of tiny filters called glomeruli. Although these filters retain major components such as protein, a small amount passes into the urine along with the waste products. Therefore, there is always some protein in the urine and it is harmless. However, the glomeruli can malfunction for certain reasons, usually kidney disease. As a result, too much protein leaks into the urine. When this happens, the urine becomes unusually foamy. Alternatively, proteinuria can be a response to increased protein production in the body.

Foamy urine during pregnancy is most often caused by a condition called preeclampsia. This condition causes most women to experience high blood pressure and protein in the urine during the second half of pregnancy. It can also occur right after delivery.

4. Urinary tract infection

Foamy urine (especially in women) can also be a sign of a urinary tract infection. It can be caused by bacteria and primarily affects the bladder and urethra. If foamy urine is accompanied by burning and pain, frequent and urgent urination, a strong pungent odor, dark urine, blood in the urine, etc., it is more indicative of a urinary tract infection.

5. Bladder and colon fistula

Factors such as injury, surgery, or infection can cause abnormal passages to form between organs in the body and connect to each other. These organs are not connected normally, so they are called fistulas. A fistula may form between the colon and bladder, also called a vesicocolonic fistula. This structure can pass foam directly into the urine stream, making the urine bubbly. Although rare, a vesicocolonic fistula can be a sign of a serious condition such as Crohn's disease, bladder cancer, or colon cancer.
