What are the symptoms of gallstones in men?

Gallstones are a common disease. Clinical data show that the rate of gallstones in men is much higher than that in women. Generally, if you have gallstones, you will have abdominal pain, fever and other symptoms. Some patients will show severe nausea and physical discomfort. So what are the symptoms of gallstones in men? If you unfortunately have gallstones, how should you take effective methods to treat it?

Whether male or female, the symptoms of gallstones are similar, with abdominal pain, jaundice, and fever being the main symptoms of gallstones, and typical severe colic rarely occurs.

1. Upper abdominal pain: Most patients with gallstones will experience abdominal or right upper abdominal discomfort and pain after eating, especially after eating greasy and high-fat foods. The pain may radiate to the right shoulder blade and back, often accompanied by nausea and vomiting. Therefore, it is often misdiagnosed as a stomach disease.

2. Jaundice: The main symptom is the yellowing of the sclera of the eyes, which can be easily mistaken for "hepatitis". This is caused by gallstones combined with cholecystitis, which causes obstruction of the common gallbladder duct.

3. Fever: When stones repeatedly rub against the inner wall of the gallbladder and cause cholecystitis, it will cause fever, chills, and sweating. Especially in gangrenous cholecystitis and purulent cholecystitis, fever is the most common signal.

There are many ways to treat gallstones. Currently, there are two main methods for treating gallstones: surgical treatment and non-surgical treatment. If it is cholesterol stones, and the patient's gallbladder function is good, the gallbladder duct is not blocked; the gallstone is smaller than 15 mm; the liver function is normal; there is no obvious jaundice, fever, biliary colic and other symptoms, conservative treatment can be used.

In other cases, surgical removal of the gallbladder is the best way to treat cholelithiasis and is also a way to cure gallstones. Surgery is divided into open surgery and minimally invasive surgery. Although minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery is relatively expensive, it causes less damage and has a faster recovery after surgery. It is currently the most common surgery. Gallbladder removal surgery has very few complications and side effects and is relatively safe.

Treating gallstones is urgent, but how to treat it requires everyone to go to the hospital for examination, determine the course of the disease, and let the doctor tailor a suitable plan for you.
