I feel my testicles are a little swollen

When a man's testicles have any abnormal sensation, it should be taken seriously by male friends. Because the testicles are also an area in the male reproductive system that is prone to disease. If there is a problem with the testicles, it will harm the overall sexual ability of men. Some men often feel symptoms of testicular swelling and pain. So what factors are related to male testicular swelling and pain?

Testicular distension and pain can be roughly divided into two types: acute persistent pain and chronic recurrent pain, which are mostly caused by orchitis and injury. Testicular injury has a clear history of trauma.

There are many causes of testicular pain, but the main ones are testicular torsion, testicular injury, orchitis, and testicular ischemic pain.

1. Testicular torsion is one of the common acute symptoms in the scrotum. Generally, there is vigorous activity a few hours before the onset of the disease, or the testicles have been subjected to external force. Severe testicular pain occurs suddenly during sleep or rest. This is the first symptom of the disease and one of the main diagnostic bases. Some patients are accompanied by nausea and vomiting, scrotal swelling, and obvious tenderness.

2. Testicular injury: The testicles are more mobile in the scrotum and are protected by a tough white membrane, so the chance of closure injury is relatively small. Testicular injury is mostly related to violence, car accidents, etc. After injury, the testicles will experience severe pain accompanied by nausea, vomiting, and even fainting or shock.

During physical examination, testicular swelling, unclear contours or scrotal congestion, and obvious tenderness are found. Ultrasound and CT not only help in the diagnosis of this disease, but also can clarify the location and extent of testicular damage.

3. Testicular ischemic pain is more common in the elderly. The pain is severe, aggravated by activity and relieved by rest. Microscopic examination of prostatic fluid is normal. It is often caused by sclerosis of the testicular arteries leading to stenosis of the arteries.

Testicular arteriosclerosis is often a local manifestation of systemic vascular disease, mostly unilateral lesions, more common on the left side than on the right side.

4. Orchitis The testicles are located in the scrotum, one on each side. The testicles secrete male hormones, which play an important role in the development and maturation of male reproductive organs and the appearance of male secondary sexual characteristics.

There are many causes of orchitis. For example, patients with mumps may develop orchitis, which can cause testicular pain and swelling. Gonorrhea is the sexually transmitted disease with the highest incidence rate, and can cause orchitis in severe cases.

Chronic prostatitis can also cause testicular pain, which manifests as unilateral pain, mostly blunt pain or pulling pain, and is persistent. Most patients are young and it is rare in the elderly.
