Why do you get constipated? You'll never guess these reasons!

Constipation is a common symptom in medicine, and its incidence is higher than many common diseases, both in men and women. Nowadays, many young people have very bad living and eating habits, and they are under great pressure at work, which may lead to constipation.

1. High pressure

Modern men suffer from constipation mainly because of work stress, fast pace of life, mental factors, etc. that interfere with normal bowel habits. Endocrine disorders and metabolic diseases can cause constipation: endocrine disorders such as pituitary insufficiency, hypothyroidism, diabetes, hypercalcemia, dehydration, lead poisoning, pheochromocytoma, etc. also often cause constipation. In the late pregnancy, due to the effect of progesterone, the decrease in smooth muscle power can also lead to constipation.

2. No bowel habits

Some male office workers often have busy work, business trips, and irregular lifestyles. Even if they have the urge to defecate, they hold it in because the surrounding environment does not allow it. Over time, the rectum's sensitivity to the pressure of feces decreases, resulting in a lack of urge to defecate, which is often one of the most common complaints of constipation patients. Some people read books or newspapers while squatting on the toilet, which is not conducive to the continuous defecation reflex and makes the defecation time too long.

3. Bad eating habits

Bad eating habits are also a common cause of constipation in men. If the diet is small and fine, with little crude fiber food, it takes a long time to form feces, especially if there is a lack of coarse grains and fruits. Most of the water is absorbed, so the feces are dry and difficult to excrete.

4. Intestinal lesions

Intestinal lesions are more serious conditions. The presence of colorectal cancer, chronic proliferative enteritis, and postoperative intestinal adhesions can narrow the intestinal cavity and make it difficult to excrete stool. Constipation caused by intestinal lesions has some manifestations of intestinal diseases. For example, in addition to constipation, colorectal cancer also has mucus and blood in the stool, and a feeling of incomplete defecation. Chronic enteritis has abdominal pain and alternating constipation and diarrhea. The stool discharged during constipation is hard like sheep feces. Postoperative intestinal adhesions may gradually worsen with the progression of the disease.
