Difference between dysplasia and acute sebaceous glands

The difference between sebaceous gland ectopia and condyloma acuminatum usually lies in the different locations, causes and symptoms. Usually, sebaceous gland ectopia and condyloma acuminatum can be judged based on clinical symptoms.

1. Different locations: Usually, sebaceous gland ectopia is more common in the oral mucosa, penile foreskin and female genital area, while condyloma acuminatum is more common around the anus, and a few will appear in the armpits and groin.

2. Cause of disease: Generally speaking, sebaceous gland dysplasia is caused by physiological changes in sebaceous glands, or it may be caused by endocrine abnormalities or stimulation from medications, while genital warts are caused by human papillomavirus infection.

3. Different symptoms: Usually, the symptoms of sebaceous gland ectopia and condyloma acuminatum are different. Sebaceous gland ectopia may cause patients to have macules or papules scattered in the local area, and generally will not show symptoms such as anti-inflammation and redness and swelling. Condyloma acuminatum is small light red papules that grow relatively fast and may cause patients to have symptoms such as itching and pain.

Usually, sebaceous gland ectopia is not contagious, but condyloma acuminatum is contagious and is transmitted through sexual contact and mother-to-child transmission. Once it is confirmed that it is sebaceous gland ectopia or condyloma acuminatum, it must be treated in time and protective measures must be taken to avoid the occurrence of infectious symptoms.
