Blue on both sides of the glans

Blue on both sides of the glans

The end of the glans is the urethra, which is used for urination and ejaculation. Some people have symptoms of foreskin being too long so they will undergo surgery to remove it. After the operation, the glans may turn blue on both sides due to poor blood circulation. It will heal in a few days. The glans is a particularly important organ so you must pay attention to protecting your glans, avoid unclean sexual behavior, clean it every day and change your underwear frequently.

White spots

Clinical manifestations: white spots of different shapes may appear on the glans penis, some are completely white, some are whiter, painless and itchy, with a smooth surface and no other rashes, and the surrounding pigment is often darker than normal skin color. There is no specific treatment for this disease, but it can often heal itself without treatment.

Fungal glansitis

It is caused by a fungus called Candida albicans. It usually occurs in patients who have undergone circumcision. The glans penis is shiny red with small pustules or papules on the surface. You can take clotrimazole or ketoconazole, and apply clotrimazole ointment to the affected area.

Psoriasis

It may only occur on the penis and not on other parts of the body, so it is difficult to identify. It is manifested as a erythematous papule with clear edges on the head of the penis, without the silvery white scales that are common in psoriasis. If it grows on the penis shaft, there may be scales. Hydrocortisone ointment can be applied externally to control the condition.

Villous papilloma

There are millet-like swellings on the edge of the coronal sulcus, which are pink papillary protrusions arranged in rows. The protrusions are particularly obvious and hard when the penis is erect. There is no pain or other discomfort at ordinary times, but it may damage the female's vaginal mucosa during sexual intercourse. Treatment requires surgical local excision.

Balanoposthitis

This is the most common glans foreskin disease. Almost all patients have phimosis or prepuce that is too long. Between the glans and the long foreskin, a warm and moist bacterial culture medium is formed due to the shedding of epithelial cells, glandular secretions and smegma bacteria. Once bacteria enter, they can cause inflammation.

In the early stage of glans phimitis, the glans and foreskin surface are edematous and congested, the area around the urethral opening is red, and wounds and erosions appear. It may develop into superficial ulcers, with purulent secretions flowing out. The patient will feel itching or burning in the glans penis, followed by pain. After erosion, pus may flow out with a foul odor. In severe cases, there will also be fatigue, low fever, enlarged and tender inguinal lymph nodes.

In addition, if it is candidal balanitis caused by fungal infection, it often manifests as erythema of the glans mucosa, local edema, smooth appearance, mild desquamation of the edges, and papules and small pustules that expand to the surrounding area to form glans erosion. Recurrent candidal balanitis can cause foreskin dryness and cracking, fibrosis and sclerosis of the glans.

Penis head stinging

There are many reasons for glans pain, and different reasons will cause different symptoms:

1. At the beginning, there is local flushing, redness and swelling of the penis skin, and a burning sensation in the glans. When the foreskin and glans are turned over, they are congested and eroded, with exudate and even bleeding. After secondary infection, small ulcers can be seen, with foul-smelling milky white purulent secretions.

2. The initial symptoms of gonorrhea on the glans penis are redness, swelling, itching and slight tingling at the urethral opening of the glans penis. The redness and swelling spread to the entire glans penis and part of the urethra. The secretions change from thin to dark yellow pus, and the patient will experience frequent urination, painful urination, difficulty urinating, and difficulty in movement. Painful erections are common at night.

3. Caused by non-gonococcal urethritis, men often have itching, burning, and stinging in the glans urethra, congestion or redness and swelling of the urethral opening, serous, mucopurulent or thin white secretions, or oral discharge in the morning.
