Why is the sperm very thick?

For those who have had sexual experience, sperm is not unfamiliar, because sperm is an essential "tool" in the male reproductive system. Only when sperm and egg are fully combined can a woman become pregnant, otherwise it is impossible to get pregnant. The quality of sperm also directly affects the probability of conception. So the question is, what is going on if the sperm is very thick?

Semen is composed of sperm and seminal plasma. Seminal plasma is composed of cecal fluid, prostatic fluid, bulbourethral gland fluid and paraurethral gland fluid, which is the medium and energy source for sperm survival. Cecal fluid: accounts for 50%-80% of seminal plasma, and is an alkaline jelly-like liquid containing protein, fructose and coagulase. Fructose provides sperm with energy to maintain sperm motility, and coagulase makes semen jelly-like to prevent semen injected into the vagina from overflowing.

Normal semen has a high viscosity and is jelly-like when it is ejaculated. Due to the action of lysin, semen can liquefy itself after leaving the body, and the liquefaction time is less than 30 minutes. If the fresh semen sample does not liquefy after more than 60 minutes, it is often seen in prostatitis.

Therefore, it is normal for male semen to be thick, and as long as the liquefaction time is normal, there is no need to worry.

If the semen just ejaculated has a low viscosity, like rice soup, it may be due to congenital absence of the scrotum or obstruction of scrotal fluid outflow.

Be careful not to hurt your sperm if you stand for a long time

Many people know that sitting for a long time is not good for male reproductive health and may harm sperm. In fact, standing for a long time is also not good for male health. Men who work as teachers and in the service industry need to pay more attention. Standing for a long time can easily cause poor testicular venous blood return, which can stagnate in the blood vessels and cause blockage of the spermatic vein in the scrotum.
