Acne can appear in many places on the human body. Some men notice acne on their glans penis and would like to know the cause of this condition. So, what is the reason for acne on the male genital skin? 1. Condyloma acuminatum It is a sexually transmitted disease caused by human papillomavirus (HPV). 90% of cases are spread by sexual intercourse. The risk period (from infection to onset) is 3 weeks to 8 months. It starts as a flesh-pink or light pink nipple-like lump, which gradually expands into a cauliflower-like growth or cockscomb shape. Apply glacial acetic acid (or white rice vinegar) and it will turn milky white after 3-5 minutes. It does not hurt or itch. It is very easy to flare up. 2. Pearly papules Also known as male genital pearly papules, it is common in people with long foreskin and can last for a long time. At present, most experts and scholars believe that it is a normal physiological genetic variation that will not affect health and will not be transmitted and spread through sexual intercourse. 3. Genital herpes It is mainly caused by herpes simplex virus type II (HSV) infection of the reproductive tract. The critical period is 2-10 days. It is more common at the junction of the skin and mucous membranes of the male reproductive organs. Generally, the affected area first has erythema and burning sensation, and soon 3-10 "needle-sized, clustered" small blisters will appear on the basis of the erythema, accompanied by itching. After 3-5 days, it will become abscesses, and after rupture, erosion and ulcers will occur, active pain, and finally scarring and healing. The entire history of the disease can last about 10-20 days, but it will recur. 4. Sebaceous gland ectopy It is a skin gland disease, which is caused by physiological deformation of the growth and development of the skin glands and hyperplasia of the sebaceous glands. In addition to the oral mucosa, it is also common in men's foreskin and glans penis, and women's labia majora and minora. It often occurs after puberty and is more common in adults. The characteristics of the disease in this area are millet-sized flat papules without obvious protrusions of the skin, which are distributed in clusters. The damage is mostly without active symptoms and generally does not require treatment. 5. Balanitis Balanitis refers to the inflammation of the inner layer of the foreskin and the glans penis, with local redness, itching or pain, and edema. It is divided into simple and infectious types. A lipid substance secreted in the normal foreskin cavity can accumulate into urine scale when the foreskin is long or too long, irritating the foreskin and the glans penis to cause balanitis, which is called simple or non-infectious balanitis. Infectious balanitis can be caused by bacteria and bacterial infection. Drug allergy can also cause local redness, swelling and itching. 6. Herpes zoster A rare disease that occurs on the skin of the male genitals, caused by infection with the varicella-zoster virus. The virus is psychotropic and can remain dormant in the nerve cells of the dorsal root nerve fibers of the spinal nerves for a long time after infection. When the immune system is low or when the patient is tired, infected, or has a fever or cold, the virus can grow and multiply again and move along the sympathetic nerves to the skin, causing significant inflammation of the affected nerves and skin. The main feature is the appearance of erythema and blisters in groups along the nerves, which is extremely painful. 7. Inflammation (hair follicle and periarthritis) Hair follicles are a purulent infection of the hair follicles and the superficial surrounding tissues. Staphylococcus aureus is the most common pathogen. Partial uncleanliness is a common cause of the disease. After the onset of the disease, the part will swell, heat and pain, and if not treated in time, it will become purulent. 8. Penile cancer Penile cancer is a malignant tumor that begins in the glans penis, coronal sulcus, inner foreskin mucosa and male genital skin. It is the most common malignant tumor of the male genitals, accounting for more than 90% of male genital tumors. Before the 1950s, penile cancer was one of the most common malignant tumors of the male urinary system in my country. With the continuous improvement of hygiene conditions, the incidence of penile cancer has dropped rapidly, and penile cancer has long become a rare tumor. The cause of this disease is unclear, but prepuce is a common cause. |
