How many days do you need to have sex to test sperm?

If you need to test whether your sperm is normal, you need to go to the hospital for a series of tests. However, there are many things to note before doing this test. The most important thing is not to have sex. It is best not to have any sex for a period of time. Otherwise, it will have a great impact on your test results. If possible, do not have sex for about a week. Sperm test items (1) Sperm odor: Normal semen has a special smell of chestnut flowers and heather flowers, which is produced by prostatic fluid.

(2) Semen volume: The amount of semen discharged is measured after it is completely liquefied. A normal fertile male ejaculates a maximum of 2 to 6 ml at a time, with an average of 3.5 ml. The amount of semen per ejaculation is negatively correlated with the frequency of ejaculation. If the amount of semen is still less than 1 ml/time after 5 to 7 days of abstinence, it is considered as semen reduction; if the amount of semen is more than 6 ml/time, it is called excessive semen volume. If there is no ejaculation, it is called azoospermia.

(3) Abnormal sperm percentage: Abnormal sperm refers to sperm with abnormal morphology, and its percentage should be below 30%

If the deformity rate exceeds 30%, it is considered an abnormal phenomenon, known as high-deformation sperm, and may affect fertility.

(4) Semen liquefaction time: Semen liquefaction time refers to the time required for newly discharged semen gelatin to transform into a free-flowing state. Semen is in a gel state when it is first discharged from the body, and it will turn into a liquid state after 5 to 30 minutes. This process is called liquefaction. The liquefaction of semen requires the participation of a series of proteolytic enzymes. Viscous and non-liquefied semen is common in patients with prostate or seminal vesicle diseases.

(5) Semen pH value, acidity and alkalinity. The pH value should be between 7.2 and 7.8, which is conducive to the acidic environment of the female vagina. This will increase the motility of sperm and make it easier for the woman to get pregnant. If it is acidic, it indicates inflammation, and the chance of pregnancy is low.

In the hospital, semen tests are usually conducted for 3 to 7 days without sexual intercourse, including masturbation. Semen tests mainly check: density, sperm volume, survival rate, activity rate, and once sexual intercourse (masturbation) will affect the quality and quantity. This will have a certain impact on the test results.

According to your examination results, sperm motility is insufficient. Common causes include prostatitis, excessive masturbation, frequent sex, unsuitable living environment, irregular work and rest, stimulation from tobacco and alcohol, etc. It has little to do with abstinence for 3 days. It is recommended to go to the hospital for a detailed examination. Those with prostatitis need to actively treat prostatitis. They can get good results by quitting bad habits, strengthening nutrition and physical exercise, and taking the Chinese medicine Wuzi Yanzong Pills with modifications.
