What is the reason for the growth of fleshy bumps under the male genitals?

The male genitals are a relatively fragile part of the body, and the growth of flesh bumps under the skin of the male genitals should be a common symptom for many men. There are many reasons for the appearance of flesh bumps under the skin of the male genitals. This may be a symptom caused by inflammation of the sebaceous glands, or it may be caused by genital condyloma acuminatum, which requires detailed examination and treatment.

What is the reason for the growth of fleshy bumps under the genitals?

The size of the bumps under the genitals depends on the size. If they are just a few millimeters, they may be inflamed sebaceous glands and do not need to be treated. If they are larger than six millimeters, you should go to the hospital to have a doctor check them out. They may be symptoms of common warts.

Clinical manifestations

1. Initially, it is a pinpoint-sized papule, which gradually expands to the size of a pea or larger, and is round or polygonal in shape, with a rough surface, obvious keratinization, hard texture, and grayish yellow, dirty yellow or dirty brown in color. It continues to develop into papilloma-like proliferation, and is prone to bleeding due to friction or impact.

2. It is common on fingers, back of hands, edges of feet, etc.

3. The number varies. Initially, there is usually one, but it can develop into several to dozens. Generally, there are no conscious symptoms, but there is occasional tenderness.

4. It often occurs in adolescents, usually without any conscious symptoms, but with occasional tenderness. The course of the disease is chronic, and some cases can heal on their own.

5. Plantar warts are common warts that occur on the soles of the feet. Due to local pressure and friction, a yellow callus-like layer forms on the surface. If this layer is scraped off with a knife, a white soft thorn-like wart body can be seen, and there are often small black spots scattered on the surface.

6. If it occurs at the edge of the nail, it will show simple keratosis, and typical wart-like damage will appear only when it invades the skin. If it spreads under the nail, it will lift the nail, destroy the growth of the nail, and cause cracks, pain and secondary infection.

7. Signs before disappearance: sudden itching, redness and swelling at the base of the wart, sudden enlargement of the lesion, tendency to an unstable state, or individual warts may disappear or small new warts may appear.

8. Special types

(1) Filiform warts: They are common on the eyelids, neck, and chin, and are usually single, soft, thread-like protrusions.

(2) Digital warts: A cluster of multiple finger-like protrusions with varying numbers of keratinous spines at the tips appear on the same soft base. They often occur on the scalp, but can also occur on the face and between the toes.

Diagnosis

The diagnosis can be made based on typical clinical manifestations.

treatment

The main means of treatment are to destroy the warts, regulate local skin growth, and stimulate local or systemic immune responses, including systemic treatment and local treatment.

1. Systemic treatment

(1) Traditional Chinese medicine such as Pinggan Huoxue Recipe, Zhiyan Decoction, Mazhi Atractylodes Mixture, Isatis Injection, Bupleurum Injection, etc.

(2) Interferon can be used in combination with systemic or local injection of interferon for multiple and stubborn warts. The efficacy of interferon alone is uncertain.

2. Local drug treatment

Since most warts disappear on their own within 1 to 2 years of onset, and even with deep destructive treatments, one-third of warts will recur, the efficacy of various local treatments for warts should be evaluated with caution, and some methods that can cause permanent scars should not be used.

(1) Fluorouracil (5-FU) has a certain therapeutic effect. Possible adverse reactions include local pain, cracking, edema, allergic reaction, tearing, pigmentation and suppuration.
