Why is the testicular skin itchy?

What is scrotal itching? Scrotal itching is a very common symptom, especially in young men. Generally speaking, there may be the following reasons:

(1) It is more common in people who do manual labor, especially in the summer, when the genitals are hot, sweaty, humid, and poorly ventilated. The scrotal skin is stained by sweat and rubbed by underwear, causing itching. Wearing tight jeans or non-absorbent, non-breathable nylon underwear can also cause this condition.

(2) Riboflavin (vitamin B2) deficiency can lead to scrotitis. The scrotum will show changes such as erythema, dryness, scaling, papules and scabs, accompanied by itching. At the same time, angular cheilitis, glossitis and oral ulcers may also occur.

(3) Scrotitis caused by fungi, such as candidal scrotitis and tinea cruris involving the scrotum, can cause scrotal itching.

(4) Neurodermatitis and eczema in the scrotum can cause itching. In summary, general scrotal itching is not a sexually transmitted disease. As long as there is no history of sexual promiscuity, genital ulcers or growths, urethral discharge, etc., there is no need to worry about contracting a sexually transmitted disease. People with scrotal itching should wear loose cotton underwear and outer pants to allow ventilation of the genitals and keep the scrotum dry. Pay attention to local hygiene and wash it every day. If the itching is obvious, do not scratch it or use boiling water to scald it. If there are various local injuries, go to the hospital for diagnosis and treatment. The male scrotum is hidden and the skin is delicate. The area is not well ventilated and has high humidity. In addition, the weather is hot and sweat soaks the scrotum. It is very easy to get a variety of skin diseases. Dermatitis is a common scrotal skin disease, which may be caused by a lack of B vitamins in the diet. Its symptoms are skin flushing, exudation, peeling, and even blisters, which are painful and itchy.
