Can prostate cysts be treated? Let’s look at these types first

Prostatic cyst is a common disease nowadays. Most of the patients with prostatic cyst are middle-aged or elderly people, and even young people may still experience it. In terms of treatment, most male prostatic cysts can be treated with drugs in addition to surgical treatment. However, before treatment, we need to understand the type of prostatic cyst. Only by understanding the type can we treat it accordingly.

Types of prostate cysts in men

Prostatic cyst is a benign lesion. According to the tissue origin, lesion site and cause of onset, it is divided into true prostatic cyst, Mullerian duct cyst, prostatic retention cyst and ejaculatory duct cyst. MRI can determine the tissue origin of the cyst (intra-prostatic or extra-prostatic). The treatment of acute prostatitis includes improvement of systemic conditions and local treatment. The most important thing is to perform radical treatment for the cause. In general, the prognosis is good.

How much do you know about the types of prostate cysts in men? Prostate cysts are divided into the following four types:

1. Congenital cyst: It is caused by abnormal development of the mesonephric duct and paramesonephric duct, which results in partial expansion of the lumen and forms a cyst. Congenital prostatic cyst is often accompanied by congenital diseases such as hypospadias, cryptorchidism, and renal dysplasia.

2. What is prostate cyst? There are parasitic cysts and inflammatory cysts.

3. True prostatic cyst: The prostate gland is obstructed during embryonic development, causing the prostatic ducts to narrow, leading to blockage and gradual formation of retention, which is called retention prostatic cyst.

4. Acquired cysts: Incomplete or intermittent obstruction of the alveoli caused by the tough prostatic stroma gradually leads to thickening of the alveolar epithelium and eventually causes the occurrence of retention cysts, which can be located anywhere in the prostate or protrude to the bladder neck.
