If you don't have a fever or convulsions, be careful of this disease!

Generally speaking, if the body is healthy, there will be no fever, let alone sudden convulsions. In life, some people will suddenly convulse without fever. Experts believe that this is likely a sign of epilepsy. So, what are the obvious symptoms of epilepsy?

1. Generalized tonic-clonic seizure (grand seizure)

Refers to a seizure with whole body muscle twitching and loss of consciousness. It is more common in birth injuries, brain trauma, brain tumors, etc. Tonic-clonic seizures can occur at any age and are the most common type of seizures among various epilepsy. Its typical seizure can be divided into four clinical stages: prodromal stage, tonic stage, convulsion stage, and recovery stage. During the seizure, the EEG shows typical bursts of multiple spikes and spike-slow waves, and each spike-slow wave combination may be accompanied by muscle twitching.

2. Partial onset only

It refers to the symptoms corresponding to the function of the local cortex of the brain caused by discharge, including movement, sensation, autonomic nerve, mental symptoms and signs. It is divided into four groups: ① with motor symptoms; ② with somatic or special sensory symptoms; ③ with autonomic nerve symptoms and signs; ④ with mental symptoms.

3. Complex partial seizures

It is also called a psychomotor seizure, which is accompanied by impaired consciousness. The aura usually occurs before or when consciousness is about to be lost, so the patient can still recall after the seizure.

4. Absence seizures (minor seizures)

It typically presents with a transient loss of consciousness without aura or postictal symptoms.

5. Persistent state of epilepsy

It refers to a single epileptic seizure lasting more than 30 minutes, or epileptic seizures occur frequently, so that the patient has not fully recovered from the previous seizure and another seizure occurs, and the total time exceeds 30 minutes. Status epilepticus is an emergency that requires emergency treatment.
