Explain how to test anti-sperm antibodies?

If anti-sperm antibodies are present in the body, it is necessary to conduct an examination to confirm the condition. Anti-sperm antibodies have a significant impact on conception, and this antibody can appear in the bodies of both men and women. You may wish to learn about the examination of anti-sperm antibodies.

Inspection method

1) Mixed antiglobulin reaction test (MAR test for short). The mixed antiglobulin reaction test is one of the two methods recommended by the World Health Organization to check whether infertility patients have antisperm antibodies.

2) Immune bead test (IBT test for short). This is also a highly used and accurate test method. It is mostly used in clinical practice for patients with immune infertility who cannot be detected by the mixed antiglobulin reaction test.

Check time

Generally speaking, there is no time limit for anti-sperm antibody testing, and it can be done at any time. But this is only for men. For women, it is best to check 3-5 days after menstruation; colposcopy, dynamic digital hysterosalpingography and vaginal color Doppler ultrasound 3-5 days after menstruation is clean can generally confirm the diagnosis.

Inspection process

Male examination

(Pay attention to the history of chronic diseases such as tuberculosis and mumps, etc.) Understand the living habits and whether there are any difficulties in sexual intercourse, check the external genitalia for deformities, and check the semen for abnormalities. Normal semen volume is 2-6 ml, pH 7.5-7.8, liquefaction time is no more than 30 minutes, sperm count is more than 60 million per ml, motility is more than 60%, and abnormal sperm does not exceed 15-20%. If the sperm count is less than 60 million, fertility is poor. If conditions permit, further immune and chromosome examinations can be performed.

Female examination

1. Gynecological examination to understand the development of internal and external genitalia for inflammation, tumors and deformities, and to check for galactorrhea.

2. Check the pH of the vagina by measuring the leucorrhea and conduct related checks on inflammation and sexually transmitted diseases, including checks for Trichomonas, Candida, Gonorrhea, and Chlamydia.

3. Fallopian tube permeability test or hysterosalpingography.

4. Ovarian function test.

a. Basal body temperature should be measured continuously for three months to understand the regularity of ovulation and corpus luteum function.
