What medicine should men take for trichomoniasis? Taking both internal and external treatments will have better results

Isn't trichomoniasis exclusive to women? Not really. Clinically, some men also suffer from trichomoniasis. Because they don't know much about this disease, patients often neglect treatment. So, what medicine should men take to treat trichomoniasis? According to experts, the treatment of trichomoniasis requires both internal and external care.

Oral medication recommendations

1. Metronidazole:

Adult dosage: 200 mg (1 tablet) each time, 3 times a day, 7-10 days as a course of treatment. Combined with metronidazole suppositories for external use, it can improve the efficacy of vaginitis and prevent recurrence, with a cure rate of up to 90%. This drug can cause adverse reactions such as nausea, diarrhea, dizziness, and headache, and may also cause teratogenesis, so pregnant women should not use it, or should not use it within 6 months before pregnancy. It is contraindicated for people with central nervous system diseases and blood diseases.

2. Piperanitrozole:

This drug is a 5-nitrothiazole anti-insecticide, which has an inhibitory and killing effect on vaginal Trichomonas. It has fewer adverse reactions than chloramphenicol. Adult dosage: 0.1g each time, 3 times a day, for 7-10 consecutive days as a course of treatment. A small number of patients taking this drug may experience an increase in transaminase.

3. Trichomycin:

This drug has inhibitory effects on trichomonas, amoeba, and candida, so it should be the first choice for patients suffering from both trichomonas and candida. Adult dosage: 2-3 tablets each time (1 tablet of 50,000 units), 3 times a day, for 7-10 consecutive days.

Topical medication recommendations

Acetarsamide (Acetarsol):

It has the effect of killing trichomonas. Put 1-2 tablets of Diweijing into the vagina every night for 10 consecutive days as one course of treatment. Check for trichomonas 5-7 days after stopping the drug. If there is no trichomonas, stop the drug, otherwise use another course of treatment.
