What are the obvious symptoms of vasomotor rhinitis?

Clinical manifestations

1. Nasal congestion

Some patients have worse nasal congestion every night, often accompanied by alternating nasal congestion with changes in body position. If the nasal mucosa has polypoid changes or nasal polyps, there may be varying degrees of persistent nasal congestion. There is occasional sneezing, but the degree is mild. The nose can be temporarily relieved after sneezing. Patients are often extremely sensitive to changes in climate and ambient temperature.

2. Rhinorrhoea

The main symptom is an increase in watery nasal discharge, often accompanied by paroxysmal sneezing. The disease often lasts for several days, with several handkerchiefs or a large amount of toilet paper consumed every day. The nose itches, and after a certain period of rest, it can recur under the influence of some inducements. This type is more common in women aged 20 to 40, and the mental type is often unstable.

3. Other symptoms

There are also symptoms such as decreased sense of smell and dizziness caused by persistent swelling, congestion and edema of the mucosa.

Prevention

1. Take part in physical exercise regularly to increase resistance.

2. Be careful not to suddenly enter or leave an environment with extreme temperature differences.

3. Massage your nose frequently. It is better if you wash your face with cold water for a long time.

4. People with known allergens should try to avoid contact.

5. Keep warm during an attack.
