Convulsion first aid, convulsion emergency treatment method

Convulsion first aid, convulsion emergency treatment method

Convulsion is an involuntary twitching of the body's muscles. When the convulsion is severe, the muscles of the whole body become rigid, twitching in waves, and the person is in opisthotonos (the head is tilted back and the whole body is bent backward in an arched shape), the eyes are rolled up or staring, and the person is unconscious. How should we deal with the emergency when a convulsion occurs?

1. Daily processing methods

1: Wrap a gauze handkerchief around chopsticks or a small spoon and put it between the child's upper and lower teeth to prevent the tongue from being bitten. If the teeth are tightly clenched, do not force them open, but use chopsticks to insert them between the teeth on both sides.

2: Keep the airway open. Unbutton the child's collar, loosen the pants straps, and let the child lie flat with the head to one side to prevent vomitus from being inhaled into the airway and causing suffocation.

3: Acupuncture at the Ren Zhong point or pressing the Ren Zhong point with your fingers can sometimes help relieve spasms.

2. Doctor’s emergency treatment

1: Immediately use any of the following drugs to stop the panic: intravenous injection of diazepam, intramuscular injection of phenobarbital sodium, retention enema of 10% chloral hydrate plus saline, or intramuscular injection of 5% paraben. If the above drugs are ineffective, amytal sodium can be used.

2: Treatment must be directed at the cause, and infectious convulsions should be treated with antibiotics.

3: Those with high fever should cooperate with cooling treatment.

4: Give oxygen inhalation.

Three: Cramp is a common name for twitching.

A manifestation of temporary brain dysfunction. The movement of human muscles is controlled by the brain. When the brain cells that manage muscle movement are temporarily overexcited, uncontrollable muscle movement will occur. It can be limited to a certain group of muscles or one side of the body, or spread to the whole body, that is, cramps.
