When summer comes, many people will go camping to escape the heat. When people walk through places with dense trees, they may accidentally come into contact with things that cause allergies, such as lacquer trees. Lacquer tree allergy refers to symptoms such as redness, swelling, and itching after people come into contact with lacquer trees. How should lacquer tree allergy be prevented and treated? 1. Prevention1: Reduce high-protein, high-calorie diets as much as possible, and eat less processed foods. People with a history of allergies, such as allergic asthma, allergic rhinitis, tingling, or allergic dermatitis, eczema, should avoid going to places with lush flowers and trees, and don't smell flowers and plants casually. 2: When going out for an outing, it is best to wear a hat, mask and long-sleeved clothes, try to avoid direct contact with catkins, and bring desensitization drugs, such as diphenhydramine and astemizole. If you experience itchy skin, fever, cough, or shortness of breath, you should leave the place quickly. If the symptoms are mild, you can take diphenhydramine, astemizole or chlorpheniramine orally. Once asthma symptoms appear, you should go to the hospital for diagnosis and treatment immediately. 2. Treatment of Rhus sutchuenensis Allergy1: Lacquer trees are difficult to avoid allergens. It is best to stay outdoors during the outbreak season and close doors and windows to reduce the entry of outdoor allergenic lacquer trees. Air conditioning can also achieve this purpose. Try not to go outdoors. If you are allergic to vegetables and fruits, you should avoid eating those plant foods that cause allergies. 2: Oral immunotherapy As mentioned above, it is difficult to completely avoid the wind-pollinated sumac. Therefore, immunotherapy (commonly known as desensitization therapy) has become the main preventive measure for sumac. The principle of oral immunotherapy is to gradually increase the dose of sumac extract to which the patient is sensitive, from small to large, into the patient's body (the most commonly used immunotherapy method with the best effect is subcutaneous injection), so that immunological changes occur in the patient's body, which is beneficial to improve the patient's immunity to the sumac. Many years of observation at home and abroad have confirmed that if the allergen quality is high, the application is appropriate, the case selection is appropriate, and the method is correct, the effect is quite good. 3: How long should oral immunotherapy be used? There is no definitive answer, but it is generally recommended that effective cases should be continued for 3 to 5 years. Although patients with allergies to sumac and vegetables or fruits cannot be treated with immunotherapy due to the cross-reactivity between sumac and vegetables or fruits, oral immunotherapy is represented by omike. 4: Honey cures lacquer tree allergy Honey cures lacquer tree allergy In mountainous areas, lacquer trees are widely distributed. People infected by lacquer tree hairs can occur all year round. Lacquer tree allergy, initially subtle itching, the affected area is slightly red, the more you rub it, the more itchy it becomes, and the rubbed area becomes red and swollen. In the past, Hakka people used lacquer cypress to clean the affected area, which took 1 to 10 weeks to heal. In the early summer of 1998, when I was crossing mountains and ridges to collect nectar plant specimens, I accidentally got infected by lacquer tree hairs. The next day, I was itchy and unbearable. The locals suggested that I use water from a cypress to clean the affected area, but it was difficult to find a cypress (its leaves are like peanut leaves). In a hurry, I applied honey to the affected area, and I immediately felt cool and comfortable. I no longer had to scratch it with my hands. I applied it three times a day, first washing the affected area with clean water, then applying honey evenly with a cotton ball until the honey stopped dripping. After four days of treatment, the affected area dried up naturally, which was better than the cypress. 3. Toxicodndron vernicifluum (Stokes) FA Barkl.), a poisonous plant listed in the Chinese Plant Atlas Database, has leaves and stems rich in urushiol. People who are allergic to raw urushiol may experience redness, swelling, rashes, itching, etc. if they touch their skin. Ingestion of it may cause severe effects, such as stomatitis, ulcers, vomiting, diarrhea, and in severe cases, toxic nephropathy. |
