Hepatic angiosarcoma is a common type of vascular tumor. However, the incubation period of this disease is relatively long, and many patients cannot detect it after they become ill. So, how to judge hepatic angiosarcoma and how to check it?

Clinical manifestations

Symptoms may include abdominal pain, abdominal discomfort, fatigue, nausea, poor appetite, weight loss, fever, etc. The disease progresses rapidly, with liver enlargement, jaundice and ascites in the late stage, and the ascites is light bloody. Extrahepatic metastasis often occurs to the lungs, pancreas, spleen, kidneys, and adrenal glands, with lung metastasis being the most common.

Check

1. Laboratory examination shows an increase or decrease in the total number of white blood cells and a decrease in platelets. Most patients have abnormal liver function. The sodium sulfobromophthalein retention test (BSP) may be positive, ALP may be elevated, prothrombin time may be prolonged, and bilirubin and ALT may be elevated.

2. Other auxiliary examinations

(1) Chest X-ray may show atelectasis or pleural masses.

(2) In cases of colloidal thiazide-related angiosarcoma, plain abdominal radiographs may reveal opacities of the liver, spleen, and abdominal lymph nodes.

(3) CT can detect inhomogeneous low-density space-occupying lesions and tumor rupture images.

(4) Hepatic angiography showed abnormal vascular morphology, continuous staining around the tumor, and central radiolucent areas.
