To lower blood lipids and relieve fever, drink honeysuckle and wolfberry soup!

Although honeysuckle grows on trees, it can still be a very good Chinese medicinal material. In ancient times, ladies in the palace liked to use honeysuckle to help themselves beautify their skin, and some even used it to realize their wish of rejuvenation. So, what are the effects of honeysuckle and wolfberry soup made by combining honeysuckle and wolfberry?

1. Anti-pathogenic microorganisms:

In vitro experiments have shown that the flowers and vines have a certain inhibitory effect on various pathogenic bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus, hemolytic Streptococcus, Escherichia coli, Shigella dysenteriae, Vibrio cholerae, Typhoid Bacillus, Paratyphoid Bacillus, etc., and are also effective against Pneumococcus, Meningococcus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Mycobacterium tuberculosis. The water extract is stronger than the decoction, and the leaf decoction is stronger than the flower decoction. If used in combination with Lianxuan, the antibacterial range can complement each other; when used in combination with penicillin, it can enhance the antibacterial effect of penicillin on drug-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, which may be a synergistic effect in inhibiting protein synthesis in bacteria.

2. Anti-inflammatory and antipyretic effects:

Intraperitoneal injection of 0.25g/kg of honeysuckle extract can inhibit carrageenan-induced edema in rats. It is also reported that 30-40g/kg of honeysuckle injection can reduce the degree of egg white-induced edema. Intraperitoneal injection of 8g/kg of honeysuckle extract, twice a day for 6 consecutive days, also has obvious anti-exudation and anti-proliferation effects on rat croton oil granuloma.

3. Strengthen the defense function:

The honeysuckle decoction diluted to a concentration of 1:1280 can still promote the phagocytic function of leukocytes. Intraperitoneal injection of honeysuckle injection into mice also significantly promoted the phagocytic function of inflammatory cells.

4. Lipid-lowering effect:

Gavage of 2.5g/kg honeysuckle to rats can reduce intestinal cholesterol absorption and lower cholesterol levels in plasma. In vitro experiments have also found that honeysuckle can bind to cholesterol, but Simiaoyong'an Decoction (honeysuckle, Scrophularia, Angelica, Licorice) was used to treat experimental atherosclerosis in rabbits. No effect on lowering blood lipids and aortic wall cholesterol content was observed.
