Where is the deltoid muscle?

The deltoid muscle is commonly known as the "tiger head muscle" because its shape protrudes from the upper arm, resembling a tiger's head, and the developed deltoid muscle is relatively large and looks very powerful, so it is also a symbol of strength. Training the deltoid muscle well can increase the width of the shoulder. It is located in the shoulder and is triangular in shape. It originates from the lateral segment of the clavicle, the acromion and the scapular ridge, and the muscle bundle gradually gathers the deltoid muscle outward and downward. In the deltoid muscle, it ends at the deltoid tuberosity of the humerus. The upper end of the humerus is covered by the deltoid muscle, making the shoulder joint round. If the shoulder joint is dislocated downward or the deltoid muscle is paralyzed and atrophied, the "square shoulder" sign can be formed. The deltoid muscle is one of the sites for intramuscular injection.

It mainly abducts the shoulder joint. The contraction of the anterior muscle fibers can flex the shoulder joint forward and slightly rotate it inward; the contraction of the posterior muscle fibers can extend the shoulder joint backward and slightly rotate it outward.

Exercise method:

Toe-in front lift

Stand with your legs straight, chest up and abdomen in. Hold dumbbells or barbells with both hands, arms hanging down in front of legs. Lift the barbells up with straight arms until they are slightly above shoulders. Stay still for one second, then slowly lower your arms straight down to the front of legs. If using dumbbells, do it once with each hand, alternating continuously.

Points to note:

Keep your body upright when lifting and lowering, keep your arms straight, and focus your mind on your deltoid muscles.
