What causes chest muscle pain?

Many men have told me that they often feel pain in their chest muscles in their daily lives. Sometimes massage does not relieve the pain, but makes it worse. What is going on? Today, I have invited a men's health expert to analyze the causes of men's chest muscle (muscle) pain.

Causes of muscle soreness:

1. Tissue traction theory: caused by muscle injury.

2. Muscle cramp theory: caused by repeated muscle cramps.

3. Connective tissue theory: It is caused by the injury of the connective tissue of the muscle (such as tendons). In fact, chronic muscle soreness is caused by the damage and splitting of the muscle.

Types of Muscle Soreness: Acute Soreness vs. Chronic Soreness.

Acute pain:

Muscle pain occurs during or immediately after exercise. Acute soreness is related to the interruption of blood flow when the muscles are exerting force. Under the condition of ischemia, metabolic products cannot be cleared and accumulate in the muscles, which in turn stimulates the pain receptors. It will be fully recovered in about one minute after stopping exercise.

Chronic pain:

Chronic muscle soreness often occurs 24-48 hours after training. The degree of chronic muscle soreness is related to the form of muscle contraction. Eccentric contraction is most likely to cause chronic muscle soreness, while isotonic contraction is the least significant. When chronic muscle soreness occurs, muscle strength decreases significantly.
