There are three most common causes of inguinal lymph node enlargement:

In clinical practice, when people treat inguinal lymph node enlargement, they will first understand the cause of the disease. So, what are the causes of inguinal lymph node enlargement?

Cause 1: Chronic lymphadenitis

Most of them have obvious infection foci, and are often localized lymph node enlargement, pain and tenderness, usually no more than 2 to 3 cm in diameter, and will shrink after anti-inflammatory treatment. Enlarged inguinal lymph nodes, especially long-term flat lymph nodes without changes, are usually of no importance.

Cause 2: Tuberculous lymphadenitis

In addition to inguinal lymphadenitis, tuberculous lymphadenitis also has fever, sweating, fatigue, and increased erythrocyte sedimentation rate, which are more common in young people. It is often accompanied by pulmonary tuberculosis. The texture of the lymph nodes is uneven, some parts are lighter (caseous change), some parts are harder (fibrosis or calcification), and they are adhered to each other and the skin, so the mobility is poor. Such patients have positive tuberculin tests and tuberculosis antibodies in the blood.

Cause 3: Malignant lymphoma

Malignant lymphoma can occur in any age group. The inguinal lymph nodes are usually painless and progressively enlarged, ranging from soybean to date-sized, with medium hardness. They are usually not adherent to the skin, do not fuse with each other in the early and middle stages, and are movable. In the later stages, the lymph nodes can grow to a large size or fuse into a large mass with a diameter of more than 20 cm, invading the skin and not healing for a long time after rupture.
