Symptoms of epididymal tuberculosis, male friends must remember

Epididymal tuberculosis is a common disease among men. It not only seriously affects the patient's normal life and work, but also seriously damages the physical health of men. Therefore, it is particularly important to understand the symptoms of epididymal tuberculosis and to detect and treat it early. So what are the symptoms of epididymal tuberculosis? Let's learn about it together!

The main symptom of epididymal tuberculosis is enlargement of the epididymis to form a hard mass, which is mostly painless or slightly painful and is often discovered accidentally. In a few cases, it may develop acutely with epididymal swelling and pain. Epididymal tuberculosis is mostly not obvious. As the lesion develops, the epididymal mass adheres to the scrotum and becomes caseous to form a cold abscess. After rupture, a sinus is formed and the vas deferens changes into a beaded shape.

Testicular tuberculosis is mostly a late manifestation of epididymal tuberculosis. This disease is more common in patients aged 20-40 years, and is often accompanied by urinary tuberculosis. It develops slowly, and the epididymis swells to form a nodule. Most of them are painless or only slightly painful. They are often found accidentally during bathing or during physical examinations. In 1/5 cases of epididymal tuberculosis, the course is acute. The patient suddenly develops a fever, scrotal pain, and rapid enlargement of the scrotum, similar to acute orchitis. After the inflammation subsides, nodules, skin adhesions, and scrotal ducts remain. Epididymal tuberculosis nodules can be located at the head or tail of the epididymis, with an uneven surface and hard texture. The nodules can increase in size until they extend to the entire epididymis or even the testicles.

Epididymal tuberculosis is often not tender. When the lesion progresses, the epididymal tubercle may adhere to the scrotum and may caseate to form a cold abscess, which may rupture and form a scrotal sinus that does not heal for a long time. The vas deferens often becomes thicker and harder, with a beaded appearance. Bilateral epididymal tuberculosis often causes infertility.
