Symptom 5: Dysmenorrhea

Dysmenorrhea in patients with chocolate cysts is generally secondary and gradually worsens. However, a small number of patients do not experience obvious dysmenorrhea. This is mainly because the ectopic endometrium is affected by ovarian hormones and has the same cyclical changes as the normal endometrium. In the second half of the menstrual period, the ectopic endometrium becomes highly thickened and congested, causing the pressure in the endometriosis to gradually increase.
